Small fingers of light gently caressed your sleeping form through the cracks in your blinds, pulling you softly out of your deep sleep. Your eyelids gently separated, and your limbs stretched outwards, letting out a few soft pops to make up for the stillness that had settled upon you in your sleep. A soft yawn crept up out of your throat and your hand rose to rub the sleep out of your eyes.
It was a quiet and peaceful morning, the only sounds being the soft hum of your AC unit and the cheerful chirps of the birds outside.
You kept one of your smaller blankets wrapped loosely around your form as you raised yourself off the bed. The blanket kept a piece of the comfortable warmth that your bed held and wrapped it around you in a gentle and comforting embrace.
Making your way to your kitchen, you started a pot of coffee. The fragrance of the brewing drink slowly sifted through the air, waking your mind, if only a little. The machine took only a few minutes to finish brewing the drink, and in that time, you had gathered your favorite fillings to sweeten the bitter taste of the caffeinated beverage.
Your first sip sent a warm feeling through your body, giving you a sense of comfort along with the small zap of energy that first sip always brings. Soon, your mug was empty, and your mind was alert and ready for what the day had to bring.
Today's plans consisted solely of finding a job. You had recently quit your previous job because of horrendous working conditions. You had been looking for the past week or so, but nothing had panned out. Your previous job was as a fast-food employee and it had barely covered your bills, even with the three raises you had gotten from the company. Lack of experience in fields other than food service made it difficult to find a job that would pay well enough to cover your living expenses. Fast food places would start you off at minimum wage even if you had a lifetime of experience, and other places wouldn't hire you without experience in their line of work.
You found it ironic. Experience was needed to get a job, but you can't get experience without a job.
With a soft sigh, you opened your laptop to go through your emails. If any companies had contacted you to set up an interview, that was your priority. Out of many places you had applied to the night before, only one had sent an email. A place called Freddy Fazbears. You didn't want to work in a food place again, but with the salary they were offering, you figured you would give it a shot. They would be more likely to hire you because of the experience you had anyways.
Opening the email, you read through the short message:
"Dear Y/N,
Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizza Plex is happy to continue the application process with you. We would love to set up an interview to see if you'd be a good fit for our company!
Please contact us at (111) 234-0987 to schedule at your earliest convenience.
Thank you,
Management"
You picked up your phone dialed the number that was given in the email. It rang three times before the call was connected and a feminine voice greeted you. "Thank you for calling Freddy's! My name is Sammy, how may I help you today?"
"My name is Y/N," you responded in a professional tone, "Y/N L/N, and I was calling to set up an interview to work there. I received an email this morning about it."
"Let me see what times we have available, and we can get it all set up." You hear some clicks, presumably those of a keyboard, before Sammy continued, "It looks like we can get you in today around 3 o'clock if that works for you?"
"That will work. Thank you."
"No problem!" Sammy chirped, "We'll see you then!!"
The click of the call ending made you let out a breath you hadn't realized you were holding. You had never been the best at talking to new people, but a few years of customer service had taught you to socialize on a professional level. Despite this, your nerves still got to you when you had to converse with someone you didn't know.
Knowing that the interview wasn't a guaranteed job, you sent in applications to various places before the time came to get ready for the interview. The process was tedious, and if it weren't for the abundance of coffee you consumed, you would have fallen asleep about halfway through. When it came time to get dressed, you couldn't have been happier to get away from the monotonous task.
Closing your laptop, you stood and stretched your limbs, hearing the quiet pops of your joints as they moved for the first time in a few hours. You made your way to your room, searching through your wardrobe to find a suitable outfit. After a few minutes of digging, you decided on a plain white turtleneck sweater, a black skirt with a white grid pattern, some black thigh high socks, and a pair of black ankle boots. With your outfit decided, you moved on to makeup. You went for a natural look, using as little makeup as possible to put yourself together. The final step was to style your hair. Deciding that a ponytail wouldn't look as nice as the rest of you, and bun would be too formal, you settled on a loose braid.
Taking a final look at yourself in the mirror, you gathered your things and left your small apartment and began the short journey to the Pizza Plex.
