Chan walked into the dorm, looking tired and resigned. He knew that he had to face the boys, and he didn't wish to disclose the fact about how careless and inconsiderate he had been. It would shame him, and he couldn't let himself be that weak and pathetic in front of the boys.

"Channie!" Felix came running down the stairs, holding his phone, and hearing him, the others peeked out of their rooms, too.

"Oh, Lix," Chan was too mentally exhausted to bring any kind of emotion in his voice. However, he tried his best to smile fully.

"Chan, I just heard the news," Changbin started, "You're dating? Is that a lie that Jinyoung told you to go along with, just for the sake of his publicity and such?"

"No... I'm actually dating," Chan creased the sides of his eyes to create a makeshift eye smile, "I'm sorry, you guys, I couldn't tell you earlier."

He so wanted to confess the truth to his brothers, telling them about the shenanigans he had done when he was needy and in search of an intimate touch; he couldn't lie to them, could he?

But then again, he was supposed to be the strongest in the crew, keeping the group intact and in harmony. He was the oldest, he was the leader, he was their pillar of strength -- as they had expressed earlier, many times.

Seungmin seemed skeptical, "This is so sudden?"

"Yeah..." Chan shrugged, his shoulders heavy from the weight of his lies.

"Oh! So that's why he used to go out at night alone!" Hyunjin guessed, and a round of 'oh!' was heard from the rest. Chan smiled; only they were the ones who could make him grin even under such a crisis.

"You didn't even tell us!" Jeongin looked offended.

"I'm sorry! It was Jinyoung's plan to keep this a secret... even from you guys. I don't know, blame him," the leader lied, and some sighed in disappointment, while the others groaned at the mention of his name.

"Guys..." he began, solemnly, and everyone looked at him, "I love you all so, so much."

"We know that," Minho smiled, and Felix gushed, "We love you more!"

It was at that moment when the doorbell to their dormitory rang, and Jisung went to the main door to answer. Chan was busy admiring the happy, smiling faces of the people he dearly loved, and then came Jisung's voice from the door, "Channie! It's your girlfriend!"

The boys rushed towards the door, and suddenly, Chan felt his happiness slipping from his fingers.

Soojin stood at the entrance of the dorm, a sling bag across her shoulders and a travel bag next to her. As soon as Chan saw her, his smile vanished in an instant. Instead, a scowl placed itself on his lips.

"Hey, I'm Soojin..." she anxiously let out, trying to form a smile. After all, she was meeting her idols in real life for the first time. She had always wondered whether Lee Felix was always this chirpy, or if Hwang Hyunjin looked this ethereal in real life, or if these people really existed in the real world. And they did.

But why couldn't she smile?

"Hi, hi!" Felix chirped, "I'm Felix!"

"I-I know," she nodded in the most polite way, "I've been a Stay for a while now."

"Oh! Really?" Jeongin beamed at her, and Changbin jumped in to ask, "Are we taller, now that you've met us?"

"Shut up, Seo Changbin," Minho rolled his eyes sassily, "You're a midget everywhere."

"YAH!"

"Hey hey, who was your bias?" Hyunjin questioned eagerly, and everyone silenced to hear her response.

Soojin, who was overwhelmed, looked at Chan standing behind the crowd of the members of Stray Kids, and she gulped. His expression was indifferent, and he looked everywhere but at her. It seemed as if his eyes would burn if he dared to even glance upon her -- she understood the disgust in his expression upon her arrival. She strongly believed that she deserved it.

And upon being asked that question, she felt her eyes swelling up; because, after all, the man she had been in love with, hated her.

"It is Chan," she spoke, her voice barely above a whisper, "It was him, it'll always be him."

That made Chan look at her; although his gaze was still calculative and wary, he acknowledged her. And that was enough for her.

"Aw, damn, I though it'd be me!" Jisung groaned, and Felix giggled at his behavior.

"Well, Soojin," Seungmin smiled, "Welcome to our family!"
