your security fence is now automatic, you never wanted it this way

quiet as a mouse
trapped in a broken house
zip your lips and lock it
key lost in your empty pocket

cover your ears and sink
why won't they stop and think
the lightning strikes once more
unspoken words and a slammed door

the walls are speaking tongues
pretty smoke fills up your lungs
destroy yourself within reason
happiness is so last season

bones sharp against the skin
your mind isn't all that's thin
why won't you come and play
before the world begins to fray

mouse hiding in your hole
they've torn apart your soul
trust as broken as the sky
run away before you die
