I do not own Vampire Diaries
His sister's reluctant agreement hinged on a unique condition: a merging of her current existence with the new world he intended to guide her into. It was an intricate task that demanded his unwavering focus and unparalleled mastery over the threads of fate. The sheer complexity of this endeavor meant that he might not be able to mend every wound, despite his desire to alleviate her pain. A singular determination enveloped him as he summoned his powers, ready to orchestrate a transformation like nothing he had ever attempted before.
Anastasia understood of course but she wasn't overly fond of feeling that pain again. She'd been cut by numerous beer bottles, had pieces embedded inside her many a time but she'd never been stabbed like that before. It was more intense than anything she's ever felt even with her higher tolerance for pain. It was the norm for her by this point and yet the agony of having a knife literally rip through her skin was not something she wished to relive.
"I understand your concerns, Anastasia," he said, his voice calm and comforting. "I will do everything in my power to make the transition as smooth as possible. But I must be honest with you, it won't be without some discomfort. I'll focus all my energy on this endeavor, but it might mean that I won't be able to mend all your injuries immediately. However, I promise that once the merging is complete, I'll do whatever I can to heal you fully."
Anastasia nodded, her determination unwavering. She knew that this was her only chance at a better life, and she was willing to endure any pain that came her way. Her daughter's happiness was her priority, and she was willing to sacrifice anything for it. With a resolute expression, she looked at Death and said, "I'm ready."
Death nodded solemnly at her before he said, "I now must bid you goodbye Anastasia. I wish you and your daughter the best and just remember that where you will wake up was not my decision, blame my older sister Life." The annoyed look on his face made Anastasia giggle, he sounded like any other younger brother complaining about their elder sister even though they were literal entities deciding their fate.
Death heard her thoughts and if he could, he would have rolled his eyes, apparently humans use the action to express their frustration and his sister frustrated him to no end. God, if she had it her way then he wouldn't be doing what he was. It was ironic really considering that life was seen as the benevolent entity and he a merciless one, when in fact his sister was more apathetic than he ever would be.
Anastasia was busy thinking about what TV show she could end up in, there was Merlin, Charmed, Sherlock Holmes, Lucifer and oh my god, the Vampire Diaries. She shivered a moment later when she felt a pressure against her forehead before a surge of energy coursed through her, and for a moment, the pain from her previous injuries intensified. But she gritted her teeth, focusing on the outcome she desired as her surroundings began to shift and shimmer. The boundaries between their two worlds blurred, and the merging process began as she, in the span of an hour at most, again felt herself succumb to the darkness.
With a wave of his hand, Death completed the intricate process of transferring Anastasia and her daughter to their new life, carefully weaving their destinies together. In an instant, they vanished from their old reality, leaving behind the painful memories and darkness that had haunted them for so long. He had taken extra care to shield Lilliana from any harm while her mother was being persuaded as he knew the moment Anastasia agreed, the little girl would be back in her mother's arms, safe and sound.
As he observed the seamless transition, Death couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. He had seen countless souls pass through his realm, but there was something special about Anastasia and Lilliana.
A mischievous smile formed on his lips as he imagined Anastasia's reaction upon waking up in her new reality. He knew she would have some choice words for his sister which he chuckled at. That girl was a firecracker when she wasn't being controlled left, right and centre and he knew this experience would be life-altering for the both of them especially with a curious Damon Salvatore whom he knew would ignite curiosity and turmoil in Anastasia's life. The prospect of witnessing their interactions brought a sense of anticipation to Death, as he was eager to see how this unique and enthralling story would unfold.
