Obi-Wan's closure

Obi-Wan had rang the door bell and a few seconds later, sure enough, Owen Lars was standing there.

"What are y-?" He stopped mid sentence when he saw Obi-Wan covered in sweat, bruises, cuts and blood.

"Mother of moons, what happened to you?" Lars asked. Seemingly worried for the Jedi. It took Obi-Wan by surprise.

"I... had a run in with the boy's father."

Owen's eyes widened. Either in fear or surprise. It didn't matter. "Anakin's alive?" He asked.

"Not exactly. It pains me to ask Owen... but... I really need your help..." It took a great deal of effort to let out his words. He showed Owen his stab wound.

Owen surprisingly allowed Obi-Wan into his home. Apparently, Luke was in his room with Breu, studying up on moisture farming.

Inside Owen's workshop, there were rusty, and dirty droids stacked on shelves along with moisture farming equipment.

There was an oil bath for droids to sit in, however, it had been emptied of oil.
Instead, Owen had a container filled with a healing liquid known as Kolto.

Kolto was a natural resource that was grown and harvested on the water planet known as Manaan.

Kolto was effective but not as effective as Bacta. Bacta was more expensive because of this.

Owen had filled the bath with Kolto and had Obi-Wan strip until he was in his boxers. He helped him in the Kolto bath and took out a chair to sit down so he could talk to Obi-Wan.

"So, you said Anakin is alive, but not exactly?" Owen asked.

Obi-Wan lowered himself in the Kolto slowly. He let out a sigh of relief as he felt the Kolto work it's way into his wounds.

"Yes... you know he turned to the dark side. But, he survived our encounter on Mustafar ten years ago."
Owen nodded.

"Apparently, he's been looking for me since then. Wanting revenge for what I did to him. How I crippled him." Obi-Wan explained.

"Imperial Inquisitors arrived here not to long ago, looking for a Jedi. I tried to save the Jedi but failed. Then, the Inquisitors began hunting me." Obi-Wan went on.

"I quickly left Tatooine to draw the empire away from Luke on the off chance he arrived." He said.

"My survival was made aware of to Darth Vader... Anakin."

"I see. So he did this to you?"

"He's far more powerful now than he ever was. I'm still surprised that I'm alive." Obi-Wan confessed.

"So what did you mean by 'not exactly' when talking about him being alive?" Owen asked.

Obi-Wan winced in pain, then settled. "Darth Vader is alive. He is using Anakin's body. But Anakin is dead. They're two very different people. At least, that's how I wish to perceive it." He replied.

"Owen... while I've been away, I've been doing some thinking, about Luke, and how I wanted to train him."

Owen seemed agitated by this comment but bit his tongue.

"I do want to train him... but you are right." He said. Owen was shocked.

"He's just a boy. He deserves a childhood. He deserves to have a happy life with his family. I won't get in the way of that." He reassured the stubborn farmer.

"I'll still watch over the boy, make sure he's okay. If you ever need me, I'll not be far. You know that."

Owen nodded. "I... I see." He said. "Thank you, Ben. It's good that you understand." He said.

Obi-Wan could see Owen was contemplating something.

"After you're Kolto bath, how would you feel about meeting Luke?" Owen asked.

Obi-Wan gave a warm smile. "I'd like that a lot."

——————————————

Obi-Wan had gotten some fresh clothes on provided by Owen and was sat down in the sitting room while Owen went to get Luke and Breu.

"It seems I was right, Obi-Wan." Qui-Gon had said.

"When are you ever wrong?" Obi-Wan joked. Qui-Gon had chuckled.

"I have to tell you this though, leaving the planet. Jeopardising everything to save the Jedi... it was foolish, my friend."

Obi-Wan nodded. "I know. But I'm glad I at least tried. Look at Ada for example, master." He explained.

"She felt the Jedi had betrayed her. I was willing to stay and help her and she saw that. She gave her life for me. And now, I'm here, watching over Luke. I'm able to do that."

He went on. "A Jedi turned inquisitor turned hero. That's who Ada is. She asked if she was brave, and she was." He said.

"I still think I can help people. I still want to, but there is wisdom in your words, master." He admitted.

"I'll be more careful in the future. I promise."

"As I've said before Obi-Wan, you've become a far wiser man the I." Qui-Gon replied.

Obi-Wan smiled. "I don't know about that, master."

"Don't sell yourself short, my friend. You're an excellent Jedi and an even better friend."

"Thank you, master. It means a lot to hear you say that. I only wish I could've saved Anakin."

"I believe he will be saved, one day. I could sense the conflict within him. Vader and Anakin were battling each other during your duel with him. It's unfortunate Vader won, but there's always next time."

Obi-Wan wished he could believe that. But as far as he was concerned, Anakin was dead. The decision was made when he witnessed Vader burn the innocent civilians alive. Then, reinforced when Vader rejected Obi-Wan's help and stabbed him.

Owen had walked into the room with Beru and Luke.

Obi-Wan stood up.

"Luke, this is Ben." Owen said, gesturing his hand to the Jedi master.

"Hello Ben, I'm pleased to meet you!"Luke greeted with a smile and a friendly voice. The young boy extended his hand out to Obi-Wan for a handshake.

"You're a Jedi too? Pleased to meet you!"

Just like his father.

Obi-Wan shook the boys hand and smiled. "Hello there." He said.

"I'm pleased to meet you too, my young friend."
