Warnings: Cursing
Only a few weeks had passed since the two became official. Things went back to being somewhat normal. Although they went back to their usual daily duties, Dottore would stop by her office numerous times during the day. 'Just to say hi' he would tell her, then bug her for about an hour while she tried to finish his work.
Even though she didn't get much work done during his visits, it was never unwelcomed. She found it sweet that he was thinking about her while he did his work and just wanted to talk to her. But after the trip to Liyue Harbor, her few days of recovery and now the frequent visits, she was falling behind greatly.
She started getting up earlier and went to bed later to make up for the lost time which caused her to get overworked and drained. Dottore noticed her lack of energy and excessive working and started trying to think of how to help her unwind.
It was another day of endlessly working for Y/N. She had been going at it for quite a few hours until there was a knock at her door.
"Come in," She sighs in annoyance.
Dottore walked through the door with a plate of food in his hand. "I thought I'd bring you lunch! You've been cooped up in this room a lot lately."
"You can just leave it there." She pointed to the corner of her desk without taking her eyes off the paper in front of her. "Thanks"
Dottore frowned at the lack of reaction from her. He was hoping that she'd at least stop working for a minute to eat. He peered past her, glancing at the papers in front of her. "You've been working a lot lately, hm?" He walked towards her to sit beside her.
"Yep." She replied curtly, not really listening to what he was saying.
Knowing that, he asked, "Yeah so I was thinking maybe we could get married soon, how does that sound to you?"
"Sound's good to me. "
"Y/N." Dottore said a bit louder to get her attention, shifting in his seat to get closer.
She finally looked up from her papers "What?"
"You're not listening to me, are you?" He deadpanned, staring back at her.
"I was listening!" She tried to defend herself knowing she really wasn't paying attention.
"If you were listening, what did I just ask you?" Silence then fell between the two as she tried to think of what he had just asked. "That's what I thought. Y/N you've been working too much, I'm worried about you. Everyone needs a break at some point."
"I know, I know." She sighed out, finally putting her pen down and pulling the food towards herself. "I just feel like I'm so behind on work and I never get to a point where I feel like I'm getting back on track. I'm just... trying."
"I'm very appreciative of your efforts but you're working too much." He told her with a genuine tone, he took her hands gently and cradled them above her lap. "I was thinking maybe we could get away for a few days. Maybe travel to Mond?"
"Dottore..." She started, knowing she can't really go. "I have too much work and leaving now will only make it worse for me."
He was a bit upset at her rejecting his offer. "Come on it'd be nice, and you do just fine! You don't need to worry about working so much."
"Don't you need this work to be done though? I don't want you to get in trouble or anything. Plus you brought me here to be your assistant, so I'm assisting," she admitted, taking her hands away and rubbing the side of her arm.
