Nick hugged me and I did love him. Trust me. But I broke. "Nick I'm sorry but I can't." I said trying not to cry.
"What do you mean?" he asked with a hurt expression.
"You almost died," I said, "If you do die hunting, I would feel responsible."
"It wouldn't be your fault," he said.
"Yes it would because i got you messed up in this life," I said. My whole body shaking trying to keep from not crying.
"Are you ok?" Sam asked seeing my body tremble.
"No," I said. "I'm not."
"Just breath," Nick said.
"Please just stop," I mumbled talking to myself.
"Jen," I heard a familiar voice say. I turned around and say a red and white hat.My knees locked and I started to fall to the floor. I felt Nick's hands catch me. But I fainted as everyone else ran over. The night played out in my head as if stuck on repeat. i tried to wake up but couldn't.
I woke up and looked around. I was back at the motel, alone in my jointed room. My head pounded and I started to cry. I didn't know over what exactly or why but it felt natural. The tears would't stop coming even when I steadied myself. I took a deep breath. I think i'm done, i thought to myself. I wiped my eyes with the sleeve of my shirt. Hunger screamed from my stomach as i got up. I walked into the other room. I felt them stare at me. God i must have been a mess. Bobby, Dean, and Sam were sitting at the table and Nick was fast asleep on a bed. I walked to the fridge and I didn't find any food. I checked the cabinets, nothing. I frowned.
"Can we please get some food?" I asked no one in particular.
"Yeah I'll go," Sam said rushed. "So what do you want?"
"A bacon burger," I said. "And fries." I added.
"That's my girl," Dean said smiling. "Sam get me one also. Don't forget pie!"
Sam left and I walked to my hunting bag. I dug through it and grabbed two pill bottles. Advil extra strength, the other read Advil extra strength pm. I took one from the daytime bottle. I sat down in front of the air conditioner.
"How long was I out?" I asked rubbing my temples.
"More than long enough to kill that Wendigo," Dean said. "So like three days."
I sighed. "I'm sorry." I said.
"There's nothing to be sorry for," Bobby said. "If anything, I should be sorry."
"How's Nick?" I asked ignoring him.
"Kind of a wreck," Dean said as he started to stir. "He thought you were dead."
"Who is that?" Bobby asked.
"Nick," Dean said. "He knows Jen."
"Why?" he asked.
"Why would you care?" I said sharply.
"Jen," Dean said.
"No she's right. Jenifer we need to talk," Bobby said.
I got up and sat at the table across from Bobby. He looked so old.
"Jen, you are not my actual daughter, but it doesn't mean anything," Bobby said.
"So you just adopted me," I said.
"No. It was during a hunt. So a couple were possessed. i was walking through the house and found them trying to kill a baby girl. I stopped them and luckily the little girl was ok," Bobby said.
I looked down. "I'm sorry."
"I am too. I haven't treated you like a daughter. But you were so good at hunting even when you were little. I wanted you to be perfect at everything. So I made you read those journals, train until midnight some nights, and let you go into dangerous positions," he said. "I'm a terrible father."
Nick started to wake up. And he gave me a lopsided smile. I smiled back. "How you feeling?" he asked as I sat on the bed near him.
"Perfect," I lied.
"You look different," he said.
"Sorry I didn't put on make up I'll be right back," I said getting up.
Nick held my wrist. "No stay, you look beautiful."
I looked down to hide my blushing face. "Thanks bae."
"I am a pretty good bae," he smiled.
"And you just ruined it," I said getting up.
Nick laughed and sat up.
I heard Bobby whisper to Dean. "What's a bae?"
Nick and I laughed quietly. "Before anyone else," Nick said.
Bobby frowned. As I playfully punched Nick's arm. He looked at me. "You're gonna get it, now," Nick said laughing. I ran into my room as he followed me. I hid in the closet and smiled to myself. It was still outside and he suspense was killing me. The door whipped open and I screamed a little. He walked inside and closed the closet. Nick kissed me passionately. We only stopped when we heard Sam yell.
"Guys I have food," he said.
He sighed as we walked back to the other room. We grabbed our food and sat on Sam's bed in front of the TV. Nick and I ate. I was full after only eating half of my food. Nick picked at my fries. As i fell asleep on his chest. I felt his arms wrap around me as I snuggled closer to him.
