Chapter 5

Mabs' POV

I was sitting on the couch on my phone, thinking about Nisa.

'I wonder what's taking her so long?' I thought as I looked up, glancing at the kitchen.

"I'm going to check on Nisa real quick. I'll be right back," I told Dahlia as I got up and put my phone in my back pocket.

I made my way into the kitchen to see Ryan and Regie, but didn't see Nisa.

"Have you guys seen Nisa? She was here a while ago to get water," I asked them as they just shook their heads.

"I haven't seen her," Regie says.

"Me neither. She's probably outside with Kane playing volleyball," Ryan says as I glance outside with a nod.

"Okay, thanks," I said to the boys as I made my way outside.

When I walked outside, I didn't see Kane or Nisa anywhere, so I decided to call her.

I took out my phone and dialed Nisa's number, but she didn't answer.

'Where is she at?' I thought as I put my phone away and saw that the fence door was open.

I made my way to the fence door and walked through it, but still didn't see Nisa or Kane.

I looked down to see a volleyball. I picked it up and looked at it, and saw the initials, 'KR'.

'KR? Is this Kane's volleyball? What's it doing out here?' I thought as I looked back up and looked around the area to see if Kane or Nisa went on a walk, but gave up.

I glanced back down for a split second and saw something familiar.

It was the friendship bracelet that I personally made for Nisa and Dahlia. When I made it, I told them to never take it off, unless they are in an emergen—

'Oh no,' I thought as I dropped Kane's volleyball and ran back inside to warn the others.

Regie's POV

As Mabs went outside to look for Kane and Nisa, I noticed Ryan giving me a cold look..

"Can I ask you a question?" he asks as I look at him in confusion.

"Sure..." I said as I went on my phone but was listening.

"You're my best friend, right?"

"Right..." I answered, not looking up as I started to scroll through Mabs' Instagram pics.

"And you know that I like Mabs, right?" He asked, making me stop.

'Why is he asking me if I like Mabs?' I thought as I finally looked up.

"Yeah..."

"Do you like Mabs?"

'Yeah. She's a badass. Who wouldn't like her?' I thought, now trying to come up with something different.

"Pfft... No," I said with a smile, scoffing.

"Are you sure? Because whenever she is around you, you always stare at her,"

"Yeah, I'm sure..."

He gives me a suspicious look before rolling his eyes.

"Whatever... I'm going to watch TV with the others," he said, getting up and leaving as I followed after him.

As soon as Nisa and Kane disappeared, Mabs went out to find them, but found out that they were missing.
