Bumps and Bruises

A/N: your child is now about 6 years old and is in grade 1!

Kai

You and Kai stand at the door of the monastery, waiting for Phoenix to get off of the bus.

You see the bus pull up and Phoenix hops off and begins running to you

"Mommy! Dadd-" as he runs his foot catches a rock, causing him to fall face-first into the hard gravel walkway

"Phoenix!" You yell, rushing over to your crying child

"Phoenix, what hurts?" Kai asks

"{Sniffel} my knee..." he holds his right knee

"Can mommy see it?" You ask, he nods slightly. He takes his hands away and you see a rip all the way through his pants. There is a scrape on his knee, it's dirty and bloody

"You'll be alright. C'mon, lets go get your knee cleaned up" Kai picks Phoenix up and you walk behind them into the monastery.

Zane

You and Zane are outside in the garden while Fawn plays in the front yard. You touch the petals of a beautiful F/C flower.

You only turn away from the flower when you hear screaming coming from the front yard. You and Zane stand, running to the front yard

"Fawn!" You yell, seeing her on the ground, holding her elbow in pain. You kneel beside her

"What happened sweetie?" Zane asks

"I..{sniffle} I was chasing a butterfly and I fell onto the ground" she says. She bends her arm and looks at the dirt covering her elbow, she brushes it off and looks at the small scrape that was made

"Does it hurt?" You ask

"Kinda... But I think I'll be okay..." she says, reaching up to hug you. She then hugs Zane

"Can I play in the monastery?" She asks

"Of course" you say, she runs into the monastery.

Lloyd

You and Lloyd are inside while Asher is outside playing in the front yard.

You pull the corners of your bedsheets so that they're tight on the bed. You fluff the pillows and set them on top

"Mommy!" You spin around and Asher runs into you, he's crying and his right arm is red, beginning to bruise

"Asher, what happened?" You ask, petting his black hair

"I... I was spinning around and I smacked into a tree..." he says. You sit on the bed and he sits beside you. Lloyd, who was eavesdropping, walks in the door

"Why were you spinning?" He asks, sitting beside Asher on the bed

"I was trying to do the spiny tornadoey think that you do!" He exclaims

"You mean Spinjitzu?" Lloyd asks

"Yeah! Sp.. Spin... Spinjitzu!!" He yells, forgetting about his arm

"Well, we should wait until you're older to learn that" Lloyd says, taking Asher's arm "I don't think you should try again for a while" he lightly runs his finger along Asher's bruising skin

"Ow!" Asher winces at the pain. You get up to get ice for his arm.

Cole

You're sitting on the couch reading while Cole and Eclipse are in the indoor training facility.

You drop your book when you hear a scream come from the room that your husband and daughter currently occupy.

You jump up and run into the training room. Once there you see three small training dummies set up in a line and Cole kneeling beside Eclipse, who isn't crying, but looks like she might

"What happened?" You ask, kneeling beside Cole

"I was trying to teach Eclipse how to do the Triple Tiger Sashay" Cole answers. You look to Eclipse, then back to Cole

"Cole! She's six!" You raise your voice

"But mommy I want to do it! I will do it!" She says, letting go of her wrist and twisting it slowly.

You stand and put a hand to your forehead "you are definitely your father's daughter..." You sigh

"You say that like its a bad thing" Cole smiles, standing up too. Eclipse stands up and before you or Cole can tell her not to she's running at the training dummies again

You gasp and cover your mouth as she begins and finishes a perfect Triple Tiger Sashay!! Complete with her own little growl at the end.

"Eclipse!" You scream, running and hugging her

"Great job! I told you, you could do it!" Cole smiles.

She jumps into his arms, kissing him on the cheek "thank you for believing in me daddy...".

Jay

You and Jay sit in the game room while Nixon plays with the other kids. You haven't seen him in a while, but you soon hear a scream that no-doubt belongs to Nixon.

You stand up and rush to the room the scream came from; Jay's workshop. You walk in and see Nixon curled up in the corner, crying and holding his thumb.

"Nixon, what happened?" You ask, approaching him slowly

"I-I was playing hide-and-go-seek with the others, and I hid in here... But I saw daddy's hammer and wanted to try it... So I tried to hammer the nail into the piece of wood and ended up hitting my thumb..." he explains, wiping away his tears with his left hand

"Can I see your thumb?" You ask. He nods and gives you his right hand. You carefully look at his thumb; it's already bruised and bleeding a little.

You hear Jay, who had been standing behind you quietly, speak "after mommy wraps your thumb in a bandage do you want me to teach you how to use a hammer properly?" He asks

"Yes daddy!!" Nixon yells happily

"Alright" Jay laughs slightly.
