Aayla woke up early the next morning. She still had her mind filled with questions about Darkfire. Did she want to go back and try to find Darkfire? Or should she lay low until the guards forgot about her? She thought they could be friends, but Darkfire had ran so they would probably not see her again at least according to the others.
"Well we can use the fruit storage."
"No, we want to save that you never know when we'll have a death warrant on our heads for 1,000 callicords."
"Well speaking of the city do we want to lay low or go back?" Aayla said butting into the conversation
"Uhhh well we're going to run out of food since Valerie wants to save it until we have an actual problem with the guards." Ace said playfully, Valerie punched him
"OW! Valerie!!!"
"Valerie, stop." Aayla said with authority. Since she was 17 so she was the oldest and had the most authority and the others usually obeyed her.
"Are we going to go to the city or lay low?"
"Go back" Thire said
"Yeah." Ace said
"Mm hmm." Valerie said without much enthusiasm
"Well it's decided then, we go. We have to get ready for tomorrow so Valerie and I can weave some nets and you look for more food like fish and crawdads."
"So we have to go swimming." Thire said flatly
"What did you expect? You could scale the cliffs and look for bird eggs."
"Nope I'm fine with swimming."
"Alright now move it!" Weaving was fun, well time consuming, so fun because you can just weave and not think. The day went by extremely fast. The boys caught a few crawdads and one fish before Aayla and Valerie gave them some nets and then they caught 5 more fish.
They ate all of them using some sea salt that they kept on finding. it wasn't the best, but it was nourishing and they slept well getting some much needed rest.
The next day they had to bring some dried mangelos in a waterproof bag with them to the journey back they were going to go on normal routine and maybe get some stuff for the Old Folks.
The Old Folks were a group of people who remembered the Forgotten Times where the original Leoparrot Vanguard was formed, so they were pretty special and important if Aayla fulfilled her plan which was to overthrow King Sladen and find someone to fulfill the place as general of the Leoparrot army also known as the Leoparrot Vanguard and the new queen, if she could reassemble it then she could overthrow the king and earn freedom to one of the kingdoms.
It was a genius idea but she needed someone for it to work, and she didn't have anyone that seemed special in any way except Darkfire, Aayla certainly thought that Darkfire was special, in a good way.
"Hey Aayla are you okay?" Thire asked
"W-what?"
"You were zoning out and you looked almost dead."
"Oh well I'm back"
"Hmph." He said wearily
"YOU TWO COME ON!" Valerie almost shouted.
They walked over to the cove nearest to the shore, nodded, then jumped in. The water was always warm because of the sunlight mostly hitting the southern hemisphere, so it warmed the non-salty ocean. As they swam to shore they did it quietly and without much splashing halfway because they were swimming underwater and they had skin tight boots which helped them slide in the water better. Once they were on the shore Aayla looked around sneakily motioning the others to follow
"Come on." She said in a hoarse whisper they climbed out of the water crouching and crawling around to get into an alleyway they climbed up onto a tall roof and let the sun dry them off.
"Hello Aayla, Valerie, Thire, Ace. I’ve been expecting you" A voice said above them.
