Duck, kick, punch and dodge were the only things on Liz mind. Her only advantage was, that she was fast and the other one strong, but sluggish.

The fight went on for about a minute, Liz was pretty sure now, that her attacker was a male, since he had atleast muttered five curses under is breath and it became more, the more she strained him. But Liz also knew she couldn't hold that tempo for much longer, so she needed a plan. The plan came about 20 seconds later, in form of a metalic object, that the man loaded while Liz got up after being drop-kicked. A gun. Perfect.

Still feeling a bit dizzy, Liz went for her last attack, blind kicking in the mans direction, in hope to hit his gun hand. And she did, she heard the crack of his breaking wrist and before he could even make a sound Liz was on the floor hecticly feeling around for the weapon.

Her hand felt over the small tiles, but they couldn't find the gun. If only the lights would turn on again for a moment.

A few seconds later, she could hear a weird clicking noise and figured out, the other one, probably had a second weapon by him. She panicked, if he should randomly start shooting, she was doomed. But the moment the man raised his gun, the second wonder happened.

She heard the sound, like it was from far away, but then she recognized it. The piercing „ping" echoing through the room, was her mobile notification sound and she had never been happier to hear it. At the same moment, the screen of the device went on and threw light everywhere around the mirror, where she left it earlier. Liz narrowed her eyes and looked around until she saw the gun layfing right behind the attacker, who was currently facing the wall. It was now or never, she threw herself at it, snatched the gun, and turned on her back. In just this moment the guy turned arround, making the last thing he saw a girl glaring up to him and shooting him right in the face.

Sophie's Pov:

About a minute after Liz left, two people walked in the pub, an about thirty year old man wearing all black and a woman, carrying a suitcase, wich she gave to the bartender. I barely noticed them and looked back down on my laptop. Weird people were normal in New york city and I needed to finish my essay due to next week. I tried to ignore them and also didn't care, when a few people arround me got up and left, even though it was only 12pm. What I could't ignore was, when the man stood infront of me and addressed me with my full name.

„Sophie Palmer?"

„Yes?" ,I looked up from my screen and surprised closed my laptop, „Is something wrong?" I added after scanning the room with my look, wich now was completely empty, not even the staff was here. My suspicion grew, when the man reached in his pocket instead of answering. After he noticed the look I gave him he gave me the fakest smile I had ever seen.

„Don't worry" , he pulled out a photo, „I just want to know, if you've seen this person."

He moved the picture across the table and gave me a second to look at it.

It was Liz, even more surprised I raised my eyebrow and then glanced at the man.

„Is she in trouble? Did she do anything?", I asked hoping to recieve an answer, like shes a witness of some kind. If these people were from the police I also would expect them to know about Liz's drug problem she had a year ago.

„Yes, she murdered someone."

„She wha-?!"

„Do you know where we could find her?"

I was to stunned to speak, so I just pointed to the bathroom door. I still hoped this was a misunderstanding. A second later I realized, that had been a bad Idea, because the woman came back, aimed with a bow at me and fired. Before I processed, what just happend, my back hit the wall and a pain exploded in my shoulder. The womans arrow had basically pinned me to the wall, I screamed out, feeling tears running down my face and my vision fade. The last thing I saw was the woman leaving, after the man shouted something like „Not her!" and then everything became dark. I didn't know if I passed out, or it was because the power went out.

I assumed it was the first thing, since the next thing I saw were flickering lights and Liz coming in my direction.

Liz Pov:

I wiped some blood of my cheek, fighting the urge to throw up from the familiar smell. I looked down on my self and saw, in the flickering lights of the pub, that my white lab clothes were now staining red. More annoyed then disgusted, I cleaned my hands on it. Then suddenly I noticed a sobbing comin from the other side of the room and remembered why I instantly went outside the bathroom.

Sophie looked better than I expected and even though she got an arrow through her shoulder, she was still concious and hadn't lost too much blood. But she was helpless after all, because she was sitting at the floor, pinned against the wall. I realived knelt down infront of her .

„Oh my gosh, what happened?"

She turned to me, her eyes full of fear, but not of whoever did this to her. She was scared of me.

„Stay back!" she sobbed, trying to back away as far as the situtaion allowed.

„Sophie, i can explain-"

„I don't know wh-what you did, but I- I..." her sentence ended in more sobbing. I wated a few moments for her to calm down, not moving a bit. I knew I had better things to do, but what happened was my fault and I owed her an explanation.

„Whos blood is that?" she wispered, breaking the silence between us.

„I dont know." I answered honestly. „But he's dead now for sure."

„He? Y-You killed a person?!", Sophies breath was going faster again and I did't know, if my patients would last forever.

„Yes. There." I claimed pointing to the room I came from.

„There is a corpse behind the door?!" Sophie yelled, nearly hyperventilating.

„Yes and? We see corpses atleast once a week." I said calmly, thinking about the countless dissection courses they had over the last months.

„Yeah. But we didn't kill them!!" My friend shouted staring at the blood on my clothes.

I sighed and moved forward to pull the arrow from the wall, but Sophie pushed my hands away, wincing from the pain, of the move. I knew she wouldn't let me near her and I also knew it was better to leave her as the helpless victim. She was normal. The daughter of to doctors and innocent in so many ways, of course she wouldn't understand, nor listen what the reason of all this was. The only person that came to my mind, that would have been on my side wasn't quite availible.

„Fine." I said sadly, „Then call your mother, or an ambulance, I am sure you can afford that."

I put her phone next to her and some alcohol, from the bar, to disinfect her wound. I then grabbed my backpack, with my normal clothes and went back to the bathrooms to get my phone.

On my way out I took one last look to Sophie, who held her phone tightly, clinging at it like her last chance. I looked down on my own and checked who my savior from earlier was.

„Bye Sophie, tell professor Wilson I am sick okay?"

No Pov:

Without wating for a reaction,or looking up from her phone, Liz left the pub and took the fastest way to the railway station. She would get changed their, to her less suspicious looking jeans and T-shirt and then take the next train to Washington DC. It was the only option for her, since after half a year she would finally meet the only other blonde in her life, who also happened to be the one sending her that life saving message.
