"I'm gonna hate this town." Indigo, otherwise known as Indi, sighed from the backseat of her mother's car. Hawkins Indiana was the last place she wanted be, let alone live. Her mother's remarriage caused them move across the country into the cloudy town of Hawkins. None of the Mayfield/Hargrove siblings were overly excited about this, I mean who would be? Moving from sunny and happy California, to the town that seemed to have a incessant fog layering the sky all seasons of the year.

Indi was the type of person you would never see overly excited about moving, she hated change, in all forms. Her mother once replaced the toaster without warning, leaving Indi angry and exasperated for the rest of the week.

Indi was not giddy or graceful, like most teenage girls. She was often sarcastic and rather bitter towards her family. Although, Max was an exception. Maxine Mayfield, Indi's blood sister, was like a mini version of her. They shared the same personality and similar looks as well, from their assertive tone to their ginger hair and freckles, they were similar in more ways than one.

As they entered the town passing the 'Welcome To Hawkins' sign, they felt as though a cloud of dread hung over the siblings' heads. The sound of the tires rotating against the road sounded muddled and faint behind the loud music from her Walkman being dispersed into her ears. This was an overwhelming change for Indi, but little did she know there were many more changes to come in the little cloudy town of Hawkins.
