He gave the officer the address and description of the place. It was great. After answering a few more questions from the officers, he begged her to hurry up and hung up the phone. Just then, we heard the sound of a car pulling up outside.

"Wow, that was fast," said Dave. "That's not the cops," I whispered. A car door opened and closed, and we heard it.

Then came the sound of heavy footsteps trampling across the gravel. Jeff ran over to the metal door. "We're down here!" he yelled. "Help! Please! We're down here!" Overhead, the footsteps were slow and deliberate.

At the top of the stairs, a pair of boots and a pair of dirty blue jeans appeared. Jeff went back down the stairs again. He had a pale face. When I looked up, I noticed a man with a beard standing there.

He was a huge figure. He was staring down at us, smoking a cigarette. "Excuse me, Sir..." I began, but he just walked away as if he hadn't heard me and went outside. We heard him take something heavy from his car and drag it inside.

He smashed whatever it was on the ground. Then, across the metal bars, a plastic tarp rolled. A few moments later... We heard the sound of duct tape. We were alone, listening to the noises of the man working after the door was closed.

We were certain they were working on something bad. This is the kind of evil that is hardly seen. It's the kind of evil you don't want to tell anyone about. We suddenly heard a hissing noise. It was strong and high-pitched. I was confused. Dave screamed, "Gas!" "I believe he's pumping some kind of gas in here."

We began searching for the cause, but we became dizzy within minutes. Jeff fell to the ground in the corner. Dave ran over and tried to assist him, but he passed out. I fell to the ground and felt myself slipping into an unconsciousness. I heard sirens in the distance...

... and then there was nothing. I was resting on the hard floor when I woke up. I tried to sit up, but my arms went out on me because they were so weak. It felt like my head weighted a lot.

I heard coughing from behind me. I moved over, startled, and saw Dave as he began to turn around. As I looked around the dusty room, I was a little confused. Then everything snapped back into place.
