Before we all knew it the sun rose. My eyes opened slowly. I was stiff from sleeping on the floor all night back against the wall. There was a feeling I wasnt quite used to though. Sitting up I looked to my side where Kas was sound asleep still. His arms crossed against his chest. Rubbing the sleep out of my eyes I looked around the room. Kaz was laying on a makeshift pallet made from weathered blankets they must have found in the house somewhere. Eddy was no where in sight though.

Deciding to get up to help the ache in my muscles I noticed a jacket in my lap. Instantly I knew whose it was. I grabbed it up and walked out of the front door which had scratches from the night previously. There sat Eddy on one of the steps staring out in the ruined neighborhood. Slowly I walked up to him and sat down next to him not saying a thing. I offered his jacket back with no words being exchanged.

He took it back still remaining silent before slipping it back on. We sat there watching the hues of pink and orange from the sun rising for awhile. The bags under Eddy's eyes revealing the lack of sleep hes gotten over the last few nights. Interlacing my fingers together and leaning forward to put my elbows on my knees I looked anywhere but at him. "Thanks." I said nonchalantly finally breaking the quietness between us. "No problem." He responded before sighing and standing up walking back into the house to wake both sleeping boys inside leaving me there alone.

I hung my head and let out a deep sigh before standing and walking into the house myself. I walked up to Eddy as he was packing. I opened my mouth to say something but before I could let a single syllable fall out the sound of helicopter blades flew over reminding us all that not only did we have to worry about the creatures but the agents of New Haven. "We have to move their getting closer." Eddy spoke slinging his bag over his shoulder. All of us agreeing nodded and slung our own bags over our shoulders.

Eddy walked ahead of us all as we tried to stay out of clear view of the aircraft that reminded us of our lingering danger. Looking up I watched Eddy's back. A part of me questioning what had gotten into him. Then my mind went back to the imaginary world that creature made in my mind just hours previously. If only things were different that could have been my reality.
