Chapter 6- Boy in Luv

"Are you listening to what I'm saying to you?" Stephanie waved her arms in front of Eunseo's eyes.

"What?"

"I said, where were you last night?" Stephanie questioned, twirling her fork. "I didn't hear you come in."

"I was.. with someone." Eunseo took a bite out of her doughnut and flushed it down with some milk.

"If you continue eating like that you're going to have an indigestion." Stephanie grabbed the box of doughnuts and pried it away from her. "Spill."

"Spill what?" Eunseo clipped her bangs back and began chugging down another chocolate glazed, sprinkle doughnut. "There's nothing to spill."

"You don't normally eat doughnuts for one, and two, you are really getting on my nerves with all this-" she pointed at Eunseo's shabby pyjamas, messy hair and saddened facial expression. "So tell me what's wrong."

Eunseo sighed as she unclipped her bangs and licked off the excess chocolate glaze from the corners of her mouth.
"It's Hanjin Group. Secretary Jung came to California yesterday night."

Stephanie knitted her brows, "it must be something big.."
Eunseo shrugged.
"I don't know. It's something with stock shares and Chaewon left for Japan."

"Everyone must've been furious. I thought rich kids had it all but looking at you it doesn't seem that way."

Eunseo slowly nodded her head in acceptance. She had decided last night that she wouldn't tell Stephanie about her leaving for Korea. Not yet at least.

"Forget about all that. School's starting in an hour."
"Actually I'm calling in sick." Stephanie rose from her seat and smiled.
"Where are you sick? Are you okay?" Eunseo furrowed her brows.
"No. I'm meeting someone."

"Why'd you call me out?"

"Well, you weren't planning to study either anyway."
She crossed her arms, frustrated over his nonchalant attitude. "What is your big deal? Why are you suddenly in America?"

"Why? Are you suddenly interested in me?" He smirked, keeping an eye out.

"Kim Taehyung!" She snapped, glaring at him. "Don't give me bullshit."

"You're still the same little girl. Afraid, confused.." He leaned against the wall and glanced back at her, "...arrogant."

She cleared her throat, taken back at his comment. "They say people are different when going into the toilet and when they're coming back out. Clearly, you live by that idiom."

"I guess you're right." He smiled. "For once."

"You like her don't you." She narrowed her eyes at him, awaiting for his response.

He jerked as his eyes widened at her sudden accusation.

"I am right. You seemed off from the beginning. It was all because of Eunseo, right?" She scoffed. "By the looks of it you and Eunseo have a past too, right?"

Taehyung stood still with his head down. "You have a really ugly personality when you're desperate Stephanie."
He took in a deep breath and started to walk off.

"I'll be going back to Korea in a week.. Come say goodbye or something."

"Taehyung!" Eunseo waved her arms in a flurry as the latter walked past.

"E-Eunseo." He walked over to her with a subtle smile planted across his face.

"I-I got something to tell you." She snapped, dragging him by his wrist.
