metal heart.

my gold-plated silver heart
is malleable and ductile.

beat it into thin sheats and
engrave greek poetry on it.
make me remember the pain,
forevermore.
and when i reminisce the pain,
i must feel pleasure and emptiness
of a broken love, of betrayal, of
something left in the past.

draw it into thin wires with your
nimble fingers that you used to
caress my rosy cheeks.
use it for making jewelry, gift
it to a loved one. bend it
however you like to make the
best design. i won't bleed.
i don't have enough to bleed.

the rest of my body is just rusted metal.
leave me somewhere to rot. plus, i'm
accustomed to the filths and dust of a
broken love.
