Tatum was nervous, it was almost 6, and she was wondering what Steve had planned.
She had told Robin about the date, Robin was excited for them and Tatum was pretty sure she knew what they were doing, but she wouldn't tell Tatum.
Steve had called her and told her to wear something she didn't mind getting dirty, so she was wearing the jeans she had painted her room in and a pastel purple, long sleeve shirt her mom gave her.
She walked into the kitchen, her mom watching her. Alice noticed her nervous appearance, she was concerned for her, but she noticed she looked more dressed up than usual, which was weird because she was wearing pants with paint on them.
"Where are you going all dressed up?" Alice teased her daughter, Tatum turned around, even more nervous.
"What makes you think this is dressed up? Is this too dressed up? It is isn't it. I should go change, I'll be ri-" Alice laughed at her obvious nervousness.
"Honey, honey, you look great. It's not too dressed up. I just wanted to know where you were going."
Tatum sighed in relief, "Oh. You had me worried for a second. I uh- I'm going on a date." Alice smiled excitedly, "Uh you know Steve?" Her mom nodded, "Well he asked me on a date yesterday. I don't know where we're going, but he told me not to wear anything too dressy, I thought this would be good."
Alice nodded smiling at her daughter, "I think it's perfect." She caressed Tatum's hair, who groaned swatting her hand away.
"Mom!" She whined, Alice smiled holding her hands up defensively after a few seconds.
"Okay! Sorry. Sorry. I'll just leave you to it." She went back to chopping vegetables.
Tatum nervously bounced on her heels, she was pretty sure she was ready very early, but she couldn't wait, she really liked Steve, if this went bad she didn't know what would happen to her and Steve, she didn't want to imagine that.
