After I was done dancing around and singing in my brush, I quickly started to get dressed. I brushed my hair and tried and failed to get the clumps out my hair. Next was the outfit, I rummaged through my closet looking for the perfect outfit. Not to fancy, not to causal, and not to laid back.

I ended up picking black shorts, a hot pink top with black buttons going down the middle and a collar. I put on black sandals and grabbed a random purse off my chair and worked my way out of my messy room. I quickly ran out the door and get in my car driving my way to the park. The park was my favorite place in the world, I loved the bright green grass and the swaying trees that would go bare in the winter. The smiling kids running around acting like a superhero or a criminal on the run. Their imagination was endless.

I of course was one of those kids, my dog would always be my sidekick in every adventure I had accomplished or failed. The colorful slides and swings made my heart jump with excitement and urge to be a careless kid again.

But now I had homework and school.
What a downer that was as soon as I got in middle school, reality hit me in the face like a brick. 6th grade really wasn't that bad, it was an awesome time to go from elementary to a whole new part. I made new friends, lost some. Even lost myself but found it as soon as Charlie came into my life. 7th grade wasn't as good. It was when I wanted to start getting more active make more friends, become prettier, fit in. It was a never ending cycle.

I'm so deep in thought that I don't even feel Jasper stand next to me. Swinging his hand back and forth in front of my face.
"Riley!" he shouts.
"Haha sorry." I mutter turning to him my face heating up to a bright pink because of my day dreaming.

"Oh it's fine. So I was thinking we could hang out here for a while and then go get frozen yogurt." He says looking in my eyes to try and find if its fine with me.

"Sure, the park is the best place on earth." I say, giving him a thumbs up.
Stupid. Stupid. Why a thumbs up?!

"Mine too! It's the only place where I'm free to be who I want. I can skate, meet new people, play with kids, or just read a book in peace." He finishes looking at the sky.

It's really sunny today, I'm glad I wore shorts. I pull him over to the slid and we start playing on the kid equipment. The kids looking at us like we're Giants that just fell out the sky and are playing on their things. We overlook the killer glare the parents give us and continue playing.
