August Alsina POV
'Right there, right there, right there
Right there, right there, right there
Right there, right there, right there
Right there, right there, right thereI know how it be when you trying your best
But you turn around, and you got nothing to show for it
So you stay on your grind, tryna get to the shine
Even turn to crime, but how come I ain't made it yet?I'm just like you (I know the feeling y'all), I been there too
I hope you feel me cause I, been through the pain
There ain't a difference, you and I are the sameHomie I was
Right there, right there, right there, right there
I was right there where you are I can't forget that I was
Right there, right there, right there, right there
Now I'm reaching for the stars but I remember I was
Right there, right there, right there
Homie I was
Right there, right there, right there
Getting money
Right there, right there, right there
Born and raised
Right there, right there, right thereI remember nights there, when I had to go to sleep, in the back of the Quick & Easy
Chilling on the boulevard, with them hardheaded niggas from the 7th ward
Had a chick in the Ville, who was down for a nigga that's real
Use to have fam in the Florida projects
That's why I'll never forgetI'm just like you (I know the feeling y'all), I been there too
I hope you feel me cause I, been through the pain
There ain't a difference, you and I are the sameHomie I was
Right there, right there, right there, right there
I was right there where you are I can't forget that I was
Right there, right there, right there, right there
Now I'm reaching for the stars but I remember I was
Right there, right there, right there
Homie I was
Right there, right there, right there
Getting money
Right there, right there, right there
Born and raised
Right there, right there, right thereHomie I was
Right there, right there, right there, right there
I was right there where you are I can't forget that I was
Right there, right there, right there, right there
Now I'm reaching for the stars but I remember I was
Right there, right there, right there
Homie I was
Right there, right there, right there
Getting money
Right there, right there, right there
Born and raised
Right there, right there, right there'I get up off the stage and walk straight inna back where I see half of Young Money and Rihanna. I even see Meek Mill wit' Tinashe and that new singer Natalie La Rose and Jeremiah. I keep on looking until I see my baby Nicki wit' Cymphonique. I walk pass err'body else just to make it to my two girls and hug 'em. I talk to 'em a little before Cymphonique leaves to FaceTime Jacob.
I still don't trust 'em though. He still a boy that just wants one thing. Ion care how close we are; he still a boy. I ain't puttin' nothin' pass him either. I got my eyes on him too.
Just gonna come in her life while she goin' through stuff. She just came out here to LA to live right. Now here comes some boy that's all in her way. She don't need to be toyed with at her age. Especially now since she's real focused.
"What y'all doin' here?" I ask 'em wit' a smile. "I wasn't 'post to see y'all 'til tomorrow."
"We wanted to surprise ya." Nicki said.
"You actin' like you ain't happy to see us." Cymphonique said.
"Shut up!" I said laughin'. I hug 'em both and give Nicki a kiss on the cheek.
"Aye, no PDA 'round me." Cymphonique said.
"Whatever." I said.
"You do it." Nicki chimes in and say.
"I'm sorry she what?" I ask Nicki, raisin' my eyebrows.
"August, she's 18 now. She can do whatever she damn well pleases. What we needa worry 'bout is the wedding." Nicki said.
"I thought you talked to Khai with Linda." I said.
"Yeah, I did, but y'know the man I am marryin' should be apart of the details too." Nicki said and I sigh.
"Ha! You tried to get your way outta it. Trifling, August, just trifling." Cymphonique said.
"Cym, mind yo' business child. Damn!" I said when Nicki tells me to stop. "why y'all gangin' up all onna nigga?"
"Ain't nobody doin' that you just bein' inconsiderate, nigga." Nicki said. "Anyway, since we here, what we gonna do now?"
"Guess we can go out to eat. Can't go to the club 'cause of Cym." I said just teasin' her.
"Wait why?" Cymphonique asks me.
"You 18 that's why. Not 21." I said to her.
"This is Vegas. I doubt they'd care." Cymphonique said.
"No!" We both said to her in unison.
"Fine," she says obviously pissed but who cares though.
I get called over by my manager and I leave real quick to talk to him. I then turn to see Meek Mill and Nicki. They both seem to be talkin' to each other. They prolly talkin' 'bout the song or some shit. After I finish talkin', I go back over to 'em.
"What's good Meek?" I give him some dap.
"Nothin'. Just talkin' to Nick 'bout that song." Meek Mill said. "You real lucky man. You real lucky."
"I kno'." I said holdin' Nicki by my side.
"You gotta good girl. Don't let her go." Meek Mill said and we left.
