Ten minutes before leaving his house the grab order arrived. Vegas picked up the order with a smile on his face and went straight to the car hoping this gesture will give him free points, maybe 7 or 9 who knows but just the thought of how Pete's smile will light up made it worth the delusional imagination.
He had planned for this date for weeks now ever since he had to leave for the province to handle the opening of a new casino which took longer than expected because his father wanted to prove to major family how responsible Vegas was by making him stay out there for even the unnecessary involvement. Every single day was torture to him knowing Pete might misunderstand his absence. He wanted to text him but thought he might say something wrong and Pete would block him so he didn't take any chances.
The various orders seemed a lot for just one person this made him question, will he think it's too much? He can eat it tonight and tomorrow too. He wouldn't scold me for wasting money by buying too much? No? Conflicted thoughts run through his mind. No? He can share with the other bodyguards it's not that much
Then he drove off to the major family.

Pete's phone vibrated and he saw a message from an unknown number,
'Come outside'
He knew who it was, he was expecting a call or message but it had been weeks since he last saw Vegas or even heard from him.
After giving his number he thought Vegas would immediately call or text him. This made him constantly check his phone for any new messages.
Vegas looked at his watch while keeping an eye at the front entrance, it had been a few minutes since he sent a message and didn't get a reply or a glimpse of Pete showing up. He took a breath and wondered if he should text again explaining it was his number but before he opened the messaging app he had a knock on his window.
He was a little nervous before opening his window and instructed Pete to get on the passenger side. He was expecting Pete to protest a little bit but Pete didn't say a word and got inside the car without saying anything.
Pete? He called out.
Are you okay? I brought you some lunch...I'm sorry, he paused, I didn't contact you immediately because I was on a business trip that took longer than I expected.Pete: Who asked you? Then he checked the back seat and couldn't believe his eyes. Do you plan to feed the whole major family? Why did you bring so much? Who's going to eat all that?
Vegas: I wasn't sure what you'd want to eat so I bought a little of everything so you could share with your friends.
Pete: why didn't you ask me?
Vegas: can I?
Pete sighed and rolled his eyes. He uttered profanity under his breath what the hell.
Vegas: next time? I will. He said excitedly.
Pete: who said there was a next time? Why don't you bring a home-cooked meal while at it? He grunted.
Vegas found it amusing and laughed a little bit before switching on the car which dazed Pete, hey where are we going? Weren't you just delivering this?
Vegas shook his head and confessed, well it wouldn't be fun to just drop them. I have to make sure you eat, what if you throw it away?
Pete: rubbish! why would I throw food away while others are sleeping hungry? Stop avoiding the topic where are we going?
Vegas: you will see.
And Vegas drove off. The ride was silent nobody uttered a word. They wanted to but it was still awkward to initiate a conversation that didn't involve bickering so they just relaxed in silence and stole glances while the other wasn't looking.
