Chapter 15 - My Safe Haven

Love doesn't mean anything if you're not willing to make a commitment.

Tejasswi spent next two days crying and letting her feelings out. She locked herself in her room with no light entering inside because the curtains were drawn tightly.

Her parents knew something was not right. She was barely talking to them and didn't leave her room unless it was them dragging her out for the meals. She knew if she told them they would be scared for her and would never let her work in such surroundings in the future. Also she didn't want to see them in a worry related to her. Her parents also decided to give her time to sort it out, and if it becomes unbearable then they will force her to spat it out.

She made sure her phone was switched off all the time. She didn't want to hear all those rubbish things she just wished to erase from her mind. But she just couldn't .... She was not able to even sleep without having the nightmares of that horrible night.

Tejasswi did not want to think about Karan and her relationship with him. She just could not take being jobless and broken up at the same time.

After crying for days and nights, she made up her mind to stand up for her self respect.

Tejasswi took her laptop out and googled the legal ways to handle the situation.

All she got was the disappointments because she got nothing as a proof that Rishabh assaulted her that night.

Media and everyone was already calling her names after those viral pictures of hers with that man.

She threw her laptop off in frustration.

" I lost everything " 

She started crying after realising that she is not only unemployed but heartbroken at the same time.

" What else could go wrong now? "

Her alter ego was staring at her to realise the  positive in the worst.

" I am at the lowest point of my life. "

She stood up and wiped her tears.

" Exactly what's there to lose? I am already at my worse. I can only go up from here. "

She switched on her phone to call her manager. She asked her to arrange a meeting with the producer of that show at the earliest and mail her the details. She requested that the meeting should happen at a neutral place like a nearby restaurant.

" He will meet you tomorrow. "

Her manager mailed her the details of the meeting after an hour.

She questioned herself does she have the courage to tell the truth to the world? Would anyone believe her or will they continue to malign her character by calling her names?

Tejasswi thought for a minute about the consequences if she kept quiet and doesn't retailiate against the wrong done to her.

Well firstly that Rishabh would still be free and world would never know his real side. He would continue being an asshole to other women.

Secondly Karan would never know the truth which will ultimately break the last string of their relationship which was her last hope.

She sighed and put her head between her knees.

Tejasswi got up early in the morning, the day after.

She pulled up her socks ( not literally ) and decided to have the conversation she was dreading about finally.

She got ready and joined her parents for the breakfast. They were surprised to see her leaving the house finally. They knew something was bothering her but felt helpless as she locked herself out emotionally. She not only blocked her parents but Karan as well. She wanted to talk to him but just couldn't hold the courage of all the fears she had about them.
