TejRan - Coincidence or Destiny

Chapter 1- A Girl with a Green scarf

It was 2 in the morning and somewhere in the outskirts of the stranded beach in Mumbai two people were deep in their thoughts, Karan and Tejasswi didn't know that their lives were about to change forever .

Karan was restless. His body was tired with the shooting of his ongoing web series but his mind just couldn't take a break . He has been in a relationship with Anusha for last 5 years but lately he has noticed that she is being distant from him. He knows he loved her but he just couldn't find that sense of belongingness in her. It's been on and off, with everything going on in professional life he has been just ignoring all these doubts in his mind. But he just can't do it anymore. He needed answers from her or from universe to give him a sign.
Anusha has been ignoring his calls and texts. She has been living in Australia for some time now. It's been a long distance relationship since some time but silence is the current state between them for weeks. He has always thought about Marriage as a societal norm but his mind today couldn't stop thinking 'Has she ever been the One?'

His mind was fucked, he was strolling at the beach restlessly with a cigarette between his lips.  He didn't know what to do and he just needed some peace tonight. What he couldn't see back then that he was not alone there.

A woman in her late twenties was sitting at the beach  alone at this strange hour. Tejasswi has recently come out of relationship after she just couldn't take it anymore. She never believed in fairy tales, She has always been a woman of reality to believe that no Knight in shining white armour will come and save her.
And here she is tonight looking at the waves and under the stars looking out for an answer. She has been busy in her work lately but is just fed up of everything going around her.  Does anything makes sense in her life or she has been just wasting her life in things that doesn't even matter.  She was looking out for Self love, happiness and peace in her personal life!!

Karan was deep in his thoughts when he noticed he was out of cigarettes. He sighed and cursed loudly and Tejasswi looked at him surprised that she was not alone there. Karan couldn't help but looked at that woman  who was now staring at him with her big eyes.

He was shocked to see that a girl's been siting all alone at this time. He has always been a gentleman. Out of humanity he decided to ask her if she need any help. He walked up to her and said " I couldn't help but notice you have been out here alone at this time, Do u need any help? "

Tejasswi was spellbound for a second she wasn't expecting anyone . She replied fervently " Why can't a girl sit at the beach alone? I can say the same to you as well since you arestrolling at this time. But just because I am a woman you assumed that i am in a trouble. Can't a girl have a moment or two of her own ?"
She spat those words at him in a single breath.

Karan was shocked for a minute to see her response . Here he was showing concern out of humanity and instead of appreciating his gesture this strange woman in front of him was snapping at him.

Karan was always calm in such spontaneous situations, he replied " I am sorry but I didn't ask you because of your gender, it was just out of concern. And yes you are right I could also be in trouble to stroll at this beach at this hour"

She didn't expect such calm and kind response, she was surprised to hear such words.
She smiled for a second and asked him to sit beside on sand and asked him impulsively, " So are you in trouble ?" Words we're out of her mouth before she could even think in her mind " woman are you mad he's just a stranger. "

Karan couldn't help but thought let's do something he hasn't done ever . He thought "What's there to lose, it's not like we will meet again"
He sat beside her and said " Yes I am in trouble. I don't know what's to do next in my life.  I don't know if I am feeling content in life. I have everything a great carrier, family ... personal life still I don't feel peace.

She was surprised and thought who would have thought she will be listening to the life problems of a handsome stranger.  She replied " You paused at your personal life, so you are having relationship issues."

Karan was shocked as if she's reading his mind. For a minute he felt that affinity between them. He sighed and said " Yes you are right I am confused and concerned if I am with a right person. She doesn't get me and have been trying to avoid me lately . I feel I am a stranger in this relationship . We have been together for so long but I am still in the dilemma when the future is concerned. I don't know where it's going. I have been trying to talk to her but all she does brings is the Distance. I don't know if I am fighting a lost battle. What if she's isn't the one?"

He rambled all these words which were playing on loop in his mind since so long. He felt relieved in front of a strange woman. She was looking at him with her deep eyes and said " Woahh how the hell your brain didn't explode with all that going inside you. I don't know you but life isn't supposed to be this complicated. You know the answers to your questions deep within , you just have to listen to your heart."

"You wouldn't have to ask yourself if she's the one. Life is pretty simple. Listen to your heart and don't be afraid to take a chance in your life . Sometimes a wrong train can lead you to a right station."

He was not expecting such kind words from a stranger. He felt at peace for a moment and smiled genuinely looking at the stars in the sky.

Tejasswi looked at her watch and stood instantly . She was late. She started walking away from him in a hurry. She felt his eyes on her and turned back to him and said " Hope you get your answers you have been looking for. I will pray to God that you will find your 'one' . It was nice talking to you. Bye! "

Here Karan was spooked for a minute what happened so fast. A minute before she was telling him something he wanted to hear and next she was on her feet to go back. He smiled contently looking at that girl in a green scarf running towards her car.

Karan looked at the sky thanking the universe . He know what to do next. It was such a beautiful coincidence.
He stood and walked up to his car and drove back home.

While driving he had a smile on his face thinking about that girl in the green scarf. He realised he didn't even ask her name. They were strangers after all and didn't expect to see each other again in life.

He felt a little melancholy at that moment when he realised that she was just a " Haseen ittefaq" of his life!! After all it was just a coincidence.

But Coincidence is just a way of God's plans to remain anonymous. Destiny has something else for these two in coming time. After all they felt a sense of affinity towards each other which they have never felt in their whole life.

How will Destiny converge their paths again ?
