"you're going on another date?" ella asked.

"yes. do you have a problem with that?" grace questioned.

"i do, actually." ella confirmed.

"why do you have a problem with it?" grace asked.

"ever since you two started seeing each other, you never hang out with harley and i. plus i like brendan! have you never even listened to all the talks we had about him?" ella exclaimed.

shit. this brendan is the brendan ella likes.

"i uh, i didnt realize this was the brendan you liked." grace admitted.

"well, i'd like it if you stopped seeing him." ella told her.

"why? we're dating, ella. he clearly doesn't like you." grace said.

"you're such a slut you know. having him up here the other day and him spending the night, you guys probably fucked all night." ella scoffed.

"me? im a slut? you're the one out with a different guy every week. i've had two boyfriends my entire life. at least i'm trying to make something last!" grace yelled at her.

grace's phone lit up, seeing a text from brendan. she grabbed her clutch and her phone and stood up from her desk.

"you're a bitch, ella. i hope you know that. you just like to ruin everyone's lives." grace said before leaving her bedroom.

she walked outside to brendans car and got in. brendan saw that she was angry, so he decided to ask what was wrong.

"everything okay?" brendan asked.

"just drive." grace mumbled. brendan nodded his head and started driving away from graces apartment. the first few minutes were quiet until grace spoke up.

"my roommate, ella, ugh, i can't stand her anymore." grace groaned.

"why's that?" brendan questioned.

"she blew up on me right before i left because she doesn't want us 'dating.' she's had a crush on you for like, ever, and now she's gonna try and do everything to get with you." grace explained.

"well, i dont like her, let's get that straight. im being completely honest with you." brendan told her.

"and if she tries to get with me, i will do everything in my power to not let her do it because then i will be labeled as a cheater." brendan told her.

"you're a good guy." grace chuckled and brendan smiled. he liked making her feel better and once she gets to talking, he loves listening to her.

brendan pulled into a mini golf center and grace looked over at him.

"we're doing golf as our date?" grace asked.

"yeah. wait, don't tell me you've never done mini golf before." brendan frowned. grace didn't speak, only giving him an embarrassed smile.

"what is wrong with you?" brendan asked. he got out of the car and grabbed graces hand, helping her out of the car.

"well i've never been the sports type of girl." grace told him. "i might need help."

brendan paid to play and he grabbed two balls and two clubs, getting a shorter club for grace.

"wow, thanks for calling me short." grace scoffed. she took the club and her ball from brendan and put it on the green for the first hole.

"how do i hold it?" grace asked embarrassed.

"here." brendan put his club down and stood behind grace, putting his hands on hers and showing her how to hold it.

"then tap the ball softly, like this." brendan hit the ball with the club and both watched the ball get closer to the hole.

"it's that easy?" grace asked.

"it's that easy." brendan assured. grace smiled to herself and went over to her ball to tap it in.

the game went by slowly, mostly because grace just couldn't get her ball into the hole at most spots.

brendan ended up winning by a lot, but grace didn't mind. she liked doing these types of things with brendan. everytime they did these things, they got closer and grace started to realized something every date.

she was actually starting to fall for brendan brisson.

"want to go get ice cream?" brendan asked as they got to his car.

"sure." grace said. she got into the car and watched brendan as he drove. he could feel her eyes on him, but he didn't want to make her embarrassed so he didn't acknowledge it.

when they got to the ice cream parlor, grace scanned the many options they had.

"what do you think you'll get?" brendan asked, putting his arm around her shoulder.

"probably chocolate brownie batter." grace responded.

"oh, so you're a boring ice cream person?" brendan questioned. grace glared at him him and shook her head.

"im just kidding. if that's what you like then you can get it." he smiled. grace ordered her ice cream, as did brendan, and waited for it to be ready.

grace got her ice cream in a cup so hers came out quicker than brendans complicated cone.

the two sat down at a table outside and grace watched brendan eat his cone and look at the people passing by.

you like him.

you actually want to date him.

he'll never date you.

you're too boring for him. he wants someone who he is actually interested in.

he's doing this out of pity.

"grace?"

she looked up at brendan with a blank face.

"you're ice cream is melting." he said.

"oh." grace mumbled. she ate a spoonful of the now brown liquid and set the half full cup on the table. she wasn't in the mood to eat her ice cream anymore.

"everything alright?" brendan asked.

"yeah, i uh, was just thinking." grace said.

"thinking about what?" brendan asked, quicklimg following with, "you don't have to share it, if you don't want to."

"it's nothing you need to worry about." grace assured.
