Ministry's Problem Child

Chapter 8

Two months later, the school has continued to be a horrible place. I sit in the courtyard, touching the Deathly Hallows necklace. I had been thinking about something for the past two months. I can bring back the dead, and I am the most powerful witch. All I'm missing is invisibility. I decide to test something, so I close my eyes and focus. When I open my eyes, I raise my hand and look to see just a floating chain. I look down at myself and smile,only seeing the chains. I turn myself back as my smile slowly disappears.

I check in on the group, who are trying to break into Gringotts. I watch them on the track to the vaults, but a security measure stops them and drops them.

Hermione stops them from getting hurt. They suddenly hear a loud roar, which makes me tense. They walk over and see a Ukrainian Ironbelly, my Patronus. The group grabs some bells and ring the noise, the poor dragon cowering in fear.

As the group moves on, I show myself to the dragon. It growls at me a bit but lowers its face to lay next to me. I gently pet the creature "You poor thing. Let me help you" I kiss the dragon on the nose, and its wounds begin to heal, making the dragon make a happy rumbling sound. I chuckle "I'll be right back, yeah? You just lay down and relax"

I go and find the others walking into Bellatrix's vault. They look around when Harry spots the Horcrux, a little cup that belonged to Helga Hufflepuff. Hermione bumps into something, which starts a chain reaction of a duplication jinx. They start being buried until everyone stops but Harry. He keeps moving until the mountain of objects stops moving. For a few moments, everything is silent, until Harry bursts out of the pile holding the Horcrux. The goblins leave the trio in the vault and make their escape, Griphook leaving the other goblin at the mercy of the dragon. The Ironbelly roasts the goblin to a crisp until security guards arrive and start throwing spells at them.

Hermione yells out "We can't just stand here. Who's got an idea?"

Ron looks at her "You're the brilliant one"

"I've got something but it's mad. Reducto" she gets a running start and jumps onto the dragon's back, the dragon blowing fire everywhere "Well come on then"

The boys jump on and Hermione releases the dragon. The dragon looks up and starts climbing out. I smile and help as much as I can by keeping the trio from falling off. After some climbing, the dragon bursts through the floor and goes through the ceiling and onto the roof. He sits on the roof and takes a breath, absorbing the sunlight and taking in the fresh air. I remove all the chains and heal any injuries,

Ron looks at Hermione "Now what?"

"Reducto" she hits the dragon in the tail, making him start flying off.

"Hold on!"

They take off into the air, soaring through the sky.

Ron grins "That was brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!"

They fly until they get to a body of water and low enough that they won't get hurt.

Harry looks at Ron and Hermione "We're dropping!"

"I say we jump"

"When?"

"Now"

They all jump off and land in the water safely. Once they get to shore, Harry frantically starts talking "He knows. You-Know-Who. He knows we broke into Gringotts. He knows what we took and he knows we're hunting Horcruxes"

"How is it you know?"

"I saw him"

"You let him in? Harry, you can't do that"

"Hermione, I can't always help it. Well, maybe I can, I don't know"

Ron interrupts "Never mind. What happened?"
