TW: slight language
Zero's POV

I had always been afraid of the king, yeah he was kind, generous and really nice, but he was just creepy.
So when he called my name to be fighting, I wasn't thrilled to be in the same room with him.
I decided to get there early because I didn't want to bother going home just to leave on less than ten minutes.
Once I got there I saw the king pacing back and fourth. Probably stressed.
I felt a tap on my shoulder I turned around quickly, one hand up ready to fight, the other resting on my sword.
"Oop- sorry didn't mean to startle you"
Ivory..thank God
"Oh-yeah sorry I've just been jumpy lately"
"That's ok, here early too?"
I hummed in response
"I think the meeting room should be this way"
We walked over there quickly, I saw the king sitting in a chair at the end if the table.
"Come in!" I heard the king say.
Once we walked in I cringed. I didn't like the feeling of the room.
I saw a few other people I recognized most of them but o few of them were unknown to me.
Saphora, Moon, Dawn
I saw this other chick sitting next to them. They waved, I just smiled back.
I scanned the room just to see who was there and I stopped dead in my tracks.
Alex
No. No. No.
This can't be happening. Alex can't fight in the war!
A guard snapped me out of my silent breakdown and ushered me to a seat.
I was next to the random girl I saw earlier.
"Hi, I'm Ira"
I turned
"zero"
I turned back to face Ivory just to see them staring at moon.
I sighed. Honestly this was overwhelming.
A little later, the king finally spoke.
"Well, this is everyone"
I looked around the room
"Ok, here's the deal.. we are at war with the crows."
Everyone looked at Ira, I'm guessing because she had crow wings.
"Ira knows the crow palace best, so they will lead us in if needed"
'They?'
"Im sorry, who's they?
I asked
"Me, I go by they/them pronouns"
Ira said
Sh*t I've been missgendering them.
"Ohh I see"
After the meeting, we all knew our parts, plans and code words.
Honestly, I wasn't ready.
