Epilogue Pt. 2

Alec's pov:

I crossed my arms as i sat down cross legged keeping my back straight and my gaze glued on the large gates infront of me.

I was now infront of heaven's gates.

They were open and i could see beautiful clouds inside but i wasn't going in.

Going in meant i was accepting my death and surrendering to my fate of being in there forever.

That's not happening.

I have a husband i need to get back to.

I stayed there for i don't know how long not moving an inch before 4 angels came into view.

Two of them had four wings and the other two had two.

You're the first soul to not enter heaven when the gates have been open to you. One of the ones with 4 wings spoke.

"I don't want to go into heaven. I want to go back to my husband." I said firmly.

They blinked surprised at that.

You can still watch over your husband while here. He may not be able to join you even after his death, but you can watch over him while he lives. One of the ones with 2 wings said.

"I don't want to watch over him. I want to be with him." I replied.

You are willing to give up eternal rest and heaven itself to go back to your husband who's a half-demon? The other one with 4 wings asked.

"Yes, i am. I wouldn't be sitting outside the gates like this if i wasn't." I answered without hesitation.

They looked at each other obviously contemplating what to do.

I guess they can't really force a soul through the gates without their consent if they're contemplating like this.

You learn something new everyday.

Another angel suddenly appeared behind them making them jump sideways.

Archangel Gabriel. They bowed to him.

This one had 8 wings.

An archangel huh?

I still didn't make a move.

Gabriel looked straight at me.

I can see that you have no intention of passing through these gates. I see not one drop of desire for heaven in your soul.

"Glad to know you figured that out." I deadpanned.

Be respectful! He is an archangel! You should be honoured to have him come here personally to meet you! One of the ones with 4 wings flared at me.

I rolled my eyes. "Don't care."

It seems you are set on your decision. Then you should have what it takes to go through with it. I have discussed with other archangels and we have come to a decision. Gabriel spoke.

I looked at him waiting.

You will be sent back to earth. Reborn as someone new. There, you will have to spend eternity. You will not die or ever be allowed to pass into the afterlife. Your husband is capable of death, but you will not be. You will be trapped on earth until the end of time. Watching everyone you love die. He announced.

"Fair enough." I shrugged.

Foolish human. You cannot even fathom how heavy of a weight you have brought onto your shoulders. One of the ones with 4 wings sighed.
