At the DEO

A team of highly trained doctors were already waiting in the med-bay for J'onn's arrival. He sped in the room fast but cautiously, not wanting to cause Kara any more discomfort or pain then she was already in. He very gently laid her down on the operation table, and heard a slight groan as she left his arms. Kara was trying her hardest to stay awake, she wanted to let the doctors and everyone else know that she was going to fight to stay alive. Stubborn, typical Kara.

Doctors were scrambling about trying to set up and get ready for a tricky operation. One doctor was very carefully removing Kara's suit with a special pair of scissors designed to cut through the tough material of the Supergirl suit. Another was retrieving Supergirl's emergency blood supply from storage, which is used for cases exactly like this. There was also a doctor inspecting Kara's injuries, looking for which ones needed the most attention, besides the obvious Kryptonite knife in her abdomen. Once her suit was peeled off, the doctor began looking for a vein to start injecting her with an anesthetic. Then a small voice made its self known.

"Please, I can't do needles."

Since Kara was not used to her skin being broken, she hated needles.

FLASHBACK

"Kara, do I really need to strap you down?" Kara stared at Alex while her mouth dropped open, "Hey, you know I'm kidding, I wouldn't do that. It's just a little pinch, then the rest is painless, I promise." Alex stated as she rubbed Kara's arm with a disinfectant.

Kara then saw Alex un-case the Kryptonite tipped needle, and she gasped.

"I don't know if I can do it Alex." Kara was trying her hardest to remain calm.

"Kara, deep breathe in," They both filled their lungs, "and out," When Kara was exhaling, Alex inserted the needle into Kara's arm, which did not impress the Kryptonian.

"OW Alex, what the hell!" Kara yelped as the needle was inserted into her arm.

"Did you just curse?" Alex jokingly asked.

"Shut up."

"And again! I'm gonna have to tell mom about this!" She pulled out her phone and started pretending to type.

Kara rolled her eyes and sighed as she sat back in her chair, uncomfortably, and thought she would never have to do this again.

END FLASHBACK

The doctor pulled herself back from Kara and asked J'onn, "Henshaw, what do I do?"

Kara, who was trying her hardest to stay awake, opened her eyes widely and stared at J'onn, who was in his 'human form'.

"Nonononono." Kara looked panicked as she started trying to get away.

Am I at the DEO or Cadmus? Is the Hank Henshaw or J'onn? Did I imagine talking to Alex and Lena at my loft? I thought J'onn took me to the DEO, or was that even J'onn? Are they about to kill me? Or torture me? All these thoughts were flowing through her head as she started pushing the doctors and J'onn off of her. Although the knife that remains in her abdomen prevented her from doing much, she was still in full fight or flight mode.

"Supergirl, it's J'onn not Henshaw!" J'onn started yelling and pinning Kara's shoulders down. He transformed back into his Martian self to try and calm Kara down.

"No, let me go please!"

The doctor returned with a sedative, Haloperidol, which is typically used for aggression in agitated patients. The doctor put the needle up to her neck and pushed it in quickly, causing Kara to gasp and slowly stop fighting the doctors and J'onn as the sedative did its job. Right then is when Alex and Lena ran into the room.

"Kara, you are safe, please go to sleep. You will be well taken care of." J'onn whispered to Kara as he placed a kiss on her forehead. "I love you."

Kara was out before she even heard him say that, and before she saw her sister and girlfriend enter the room.

"Okay this knife isn't going to remove itself people!" One doctor yelled.

Alex removed her jacket and gun holster and walked over to the lead doctor, Dr.Hamilton. Lena walked out and stood outside of the room, not wanting to be in the way, as J'onn flew back to the apartment to look for any clues that might have been left behind.

"Director Danvers! How may I help-"

"I'm going to be taking point on this one Dr.Hamilton," Alex stated as she began putting on her scrubs and gloves to begin the operation, "I need any updates you found on the main knife wound in her mid-section."

"The knife is lodged in between two of her organs judging from area it was inserted and our previous MRI scan of Supergirls abdomen, one of them being her stomach. And the angle it was inserted tells us it should be able to be removed cleanly if we pull it straight out at the same angle. But any slight difference in the angle could result in the knife puncturing the stomach, which could result in-"

Alex cut her off, once again, "could result in all the contents of her stomach seeping into her abdominal cavity, infecting every organ around there, which would be very bad." Alex took a deep breath in.....and then out.... "Alright let's do this."

Alex gripped the knife, steadied her breath, and started pulling the knife straight at the same angle it was inserted. Soon enough, the whole blade was out and placed in a lead box and taken by an agent and taken to storage.

"I need someone to stitch up her major stab wounds and check for any other internal injuries. Please call my M--Dr. Eliza Danvers, she is very skilled and knowledgeable on Kryptonian biology. Excuse me while I go wash up."

"Alex." Lena tried reaching out to grab Alex's hand but Alex quickly pulled her hand out of her reach.

"I just need a second Lena, you should get some rest. You had a pretty eventful morning."

That's right, it's only 7:45 in the morning, wow. How your life could just flip upside down in a matter of hours. Lena couldn't imagine how her sister was feeling, seeing her sister in a pool of her own blood. All Lena could do was look through the observation window as Kara was being stitched up and further inspected by Dr.Hamilton and her team.

"She didn't crash, not a once! It's a miracle she survived." Lena heard one of the doctors say.

"Not one issue after the sedative, remarkable." Another one stated.

Wait, sedative? She would have to ask about what happened later because Lena was about to take Alex's advice about getting some rest. While she zoned out, she heard her name which took her straight back to reality.

"Lena!"

"Maggie! You're here!" Lena exclaimed.

"Yeah Alex told me she's had a rough go at it this morning and needed to tell me something very important, so I came as soon as I got the message--is that Supergirl being operated on?" Maggie asked once she looked through the viewing window.

Maggie doesn't know Kara is Supergirl, that must be what Alex wants to discuss.

"Uh, yeah. Alex um, she went towards the locker rooms to clean-up and change I'm pretty sure. She sounds like she could really use someone to talk to." Lena gave a sad smile to Maggie.

"Alright, I'll be headed that way, Thank you Lena." Maggie said as she started walking to the locker room.

"No problem Maggie."

Once Maggie was out of sight, Lena returned her attention to the operation table, "C'mon Kara, keep on fighting, you're doing great." She whispered to herself.
