Baby Steps

Maggie stares at Eliza as she waits for an answer. She hopes she won't be mad that Alex told her.

"Well....I'm glad," Eliza starts as Maggie lets out a breath she didn't even know she was holding, "I trust you are able to keep a secret?" Eliza asks, knowing that Maggie is more than capable.

"Yes of course." Maggie smiles and wraps her arm around Alex.

"Anyways, how is Kara doing Eliza?" J'onn asks.

"She is stable for right now, but we won't truly no her condition until she wakes up, which could be a bit."

"Well I think we should start looking into where Lillian and her pet cyborg ran off too." Alex says.

"Great, I am going to go sit in Kara's room, I'll let you know if anything changes in her condition."

Eliza begins to walk out when Maggie decides she wants to join her.

"Catch those assholes, Danvers." Maggie said as she catches up with Eliza.

Alex throws a mock salute up and begins walking to the command center with J'onn and Winn.

"So, what information do we have on Lillian's whereabouts?" Winn questioned as he sat down in his chair.

"All we know is what that burnt device was, but nothing else. Unless you found any other clues while you were at Kara's loft?" Alex looked at J'onn as he shook his head.

"Anyways, I tried to trace the energy let of by the portal that Lillian used. The only thing it showed was the one that was activated in Kara's apartment, but not their 'destination' portal you could say."

"So another dead end." Alex sighed.

"Not exactly."

"What do you mean Winn?" The Martian asked.

"The only way for a portal like the one they used, portable, to make an untraceable destination portal is if it went underground, but that is impossible. Unless they directly connected to a stationary transmatter portal. And the thing about these transmatter portals is that they are all connected and we have one." Winn smiles.

"At the Fortress of Solitude." Alex said.

"Exactly. We can link up to their portal from the  Fortress and breach whatever base they have from the inside."

"But doesn't that mean they can come through the one in the Fortress?" Alex asks.

"They would have to know that it was there, which they don't."

"Well could we use it to ping there location?" J'onn questions.

"Yes, but they would find out. It would let them know where the portal was that pinged theirs was at."

"Well, this is still a win. See if you can figure anything else out on their location, I don't want our people going in there blind if they don't have to." Alex suggests to Winn.

"Already on it Alex."

-Med Bay-

Eliza and Maggie sat down on the chairs in the room, making small talk as they watched Kara breath. They hoped she would wake up soon, and show better signs then the first time she did.

"Could you tell me a story about Kara and Alex when they were younger?" Maggie asks Eliza, curious of what a young Alex and Kara would look like.

"Oh yes Maggie, there are tons of stories," Eliza chuckles to herself, "One sticks out to me right now though."

FLASHBACK

It was the end of the last day of school. They both sighed in relief as they walked in the door.
