Episode 3: A Rival?

During his long night, Roméo couldn't think of anything else than the threat of Théo and the mission he forcefully gave him. He knows that if he chooses to disobey his order, Théo won't hesitate shout his secret from the rooftops and moreover, he could get harshly beaten up by his men. Roméo won't risk anything with Théo and he will obey.

After their fifth period, Stella brings Roméo to hang in the stadium close to their school where the local cheerleaders are rehearsing for the upcoming football match of their high school. They sit in the bleachers facing the field.

- Really sorry Roméo, I had to do so..

- So this meet-up at the gym would have been an ambush too?

- Y-yeah..

- Welp, glad I didn't found it then. I had time to finish my school day.

- Do you resent me..?

- A part of me wants you FUCKING DEAD but the other part is just "meh". I mean, you're also working reluctantly for Théo, no? So we're the same. You didn't want to trap me but had to and I don't want to do this mission but I will.

- I-I tried to negotiate with him and he allowed me to work with you for that mission. That's the least I could do..

- Huh, how did you get tangled with Théo in the first place..

Roméo sighs but his question remains without answer. Stella looks away and stays quiet as the grave. Roméo stares at the cute cheerleaders of the field but only one of them caught his eye; the captain. Stella looks into Roméo's eyes and follows his gaze to the girl he's staring at and she chuckles.

- Checking out the captain huh?

- W-what? No! It's just.. she looks familiar and moreover, I really feel like being thrown in an American high school slice of life series. It's cliché but cool I guess.

- Huh, I don't really get what you mean but.. this girl is Maddie Wilson. She's the cutest girl of this school. Man, if only you could see how many guys she turned down.. I remember this Valentine day where she declined like THIRTY love letters from almost every boys of the school only because she's not interested.

- Ehh, is she that popular..

"We really are in a series.." is what he thought.

- Yea, she IS but unfortunately, her heart is already taken, sorry dude.

- She has a boyfriend?

- Not quite, more like an endless non-reciprocal crush on The Weirdo.

- HUH?! M-MICHAEL BLAKE?

- Hey! Chill out dude, don't scream!

- This can't be true, right?

- Well, as strange as it may seem, it is true. But Michael doesn't give a damn about her. He maybe turned her down two hundred times since she started going after him-- and I'm not even joking. That guy is too direct and hostile, how can a girl like her be in love with a piece of trash like him..

"So, this girl is my 'rival'? Well, can I really call her a rival when in only two days I was able to openly flirt with Michael AND received a positive reply? In any way, I should stay aware of her. She could do something." is what he thought.

At the same time, from the other side of the field, Michael, Quinn and Patland arrive with bags filled of fast-food. They go up in the bleachers in front of the one where Romeo and Stella are seated and drops their three bags on the seats below theirs'. Michael starts to unpack his own but stops instantly when he hears Quinn and Patland snorting behind his back. Quinn taps on Michael's shoulder and when he turns his gaze to him, points the other side of the field; Roméo's bleachers.
