My family and I have been going to Susannah's beach house in Cousins every summer since Belly and I were babies. Since before we were even born. All year long we count the days till we are in that house. The dads come to visit, but it's not really their place. They don't belong to it, not the way that we do, the mothers and us kids. The summer house is made up of lots of things; the beach, the swimming pool, movie nights with the moms, but the boys, the boys most of all. Belly and I tell each other everything and it's a known fact that she has had a crush on Conrad since like foreverand that I currently have a crush on Jeremiah. It's the same every summer. Belly and I have always loved that about it. For us, everything good, everything magical, happens between the months of June and August.

Taylor, Belly and I were in Belly's room helping her pack. I was already done packing, as usual. I cannot stand being unorganized and have to have everything planned before hand. Belly on the other hand always packs at the last minute.
