10 Things that Annoy me about the Pokémon Fanbase

Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well. Anyways sorry for not updating in a while been busy with life and other things. Hopefully I'll be able to update more frequently soon but for now I need to blow off some steam. In case you know the Pokémon fandom has had its fair share of toxicity. And being a Pokémon fan I couldn't believe how toxic this fandom has been lately. But I think I better share something that really annoy me about the fanbase. If you get offended by what I say then I apologize. Keep in mind these are my opinions! Without being said let's get started!

1.) Genwunners:
Now this is pretty common in the community since everyone knows about these guys. I myself like Pokémon as a whole. However these guys just simply won't shut up about the games especially the anime not being like the old ones mostly Gen 1. Not to mention they just can't accept change and have to complain about everything that isn't Gen 1. Now I grew up with gen 1 however it isn't my favorite generation but I still like it.  But these guys take it too a whole other level and are pretty much butthurt fanboys. Genwunners please stop complaining and learn to accept other generations of Pokémon. Take the nostalgia glasses off!

2.) Shipping Wars:
Now this is one that really annoys me, the endless war with Pokémon shippers who argue and complain about their favorite ships. Giving out ridiculous claims, Especially attack others for disagreeing with them, it's like you can't have an opinion these days. Not to mention the endless bickering about why this particular ship is better and blah blah blah! Honestly this is why I don't do shipping anymore because of the crazy shippers who go all out on their favorite ships and the ones they hate. Especially the endless war between Pokeshippers and Amourshippers! Pokémon isn't about romance okay! It's about catching, befriending, battling with cute monsters that fit in your pockets for crying out loud! Plus Ash is still 10 years old! He is dense as a rock when it comes to romance!

3.) Toxic Pokeshippers:
Speaking of ships I feel that one of the most toxic and annoying group of people are the toxic Pokeshippers who ship Ash and Misty so hard. No I don't have a problem with the people who ship it but it's most of its fans that really grind my gears ⚙️ (Not all of them). They just love to put this pairing/ship on a pedestal, they are so desperate for Ash and Misty to end up together when it's not going to happen. However most of them go out of their way to attack others for disagreeing with them especially attacking the other shippers who ship Ash with the other Pokegirls. They have a huge animosity towards Serena and Amourshipping that they go out of their way to bash the character, the ship and especially the fans. They believe that Misty belongs only to Ash and give out false information about them being together which is not true! Not to mention most of them are rude AF! If you're a Pokeshipper I don't have a problem with you liking this ship but do not attack anyone else just because they have a different opinion or make false claims to make your ship look canon. Also if Ash and Misty are not meant to be than they're not meant to be! It's up to the writers to decide who Ash will end up with! Yet again the Pokémon anime is not about romance! FYI those moments that you love so much was only in the 4kids dub! The Japanese dub is the true canon!

4.) Serena Haters:
Now I don't have a problem with anyone not liking Serena or Amourshipping. But the haters are so annoying yet unbearable! These people just won't shut up about how much they hate Serena especially saying such ridiculous nonsense about her character. Now I do like Serena and she is my favorite Pokegirl but it's not because of Amourshipping it's for a different reason. Serena is one of the most controversial characters in the Pokémon series. There's people who love her or absolutely hate her for dumb reasons. I feel the haters are the most toxic individuals I've ever encountered. Say what you want about the Serena fans and the Amourshippers but I feel that the hate is starting to get really really really old! They complain about her being girly, treat her like she's the devil herself, call her a stalker and trash about her feelings with Ash. What's wrong with being girly and liking someone?! Is it a crime!? If people had watch the anime they would see that Serena is a good character. But nope they are just too judgmental and close minded on the poor girl. I swear there is no pleasing these people! Again if you don't like Serena that's fine but learn to appreciate and respect others who do like her.

5.) Charizard Fanboys:
Now I love Charizard however it isn't my all time favorite Pokémon. I know right how could anyone not like Charizard? Hear me out. Charizard is cool however it's fans especially the fanboys who love to over glorify it are so freaking Annoying! They just love to put charizard on a pedestal. Saying how it's the best Pokémon ever and the others suck! How it's so god tier They go on about how Charizard could beat any Pokémon especially legendaries. Charizard is overrated and I'm sorry to tell you but it's not the best Pokémon ever. There are Pokémon who would kick its ass no problem. But the fans say otherwise. Again I love Charizard but I think there are cooler Pokémon than Charizard. Just saying...

6.) Kalos League Whinners:
Do I really have to ask? I mean seriously it's been 7 freaking years since Ash lost the Kalos league and people still bitch and whine about it!? Look I was upset that Ash lost but I'm over it however I get so sick and tired about people whining about the Kalos league. Ash was never meant to win that league but no...butthurt fans still to this day can't let it go! Like seriously let it go already!!!!

7.) Ash Ketchum Haters:
Aside from Serena and others, Ash gets his fair share of hate as well. He's been the main character of the anime for 29 years. Gosh how time flies so fast yet I keep hearing the same boring complaints over and over again. Like he's a bad trainer, he never evolves his Pokémon, he never wins a league, he never catches a legendary...Blah Blah Blah! Just to be clear The Pokémon anime is geared towards kids. Ash is now in the masters 8 for crying out loud! Yet most fans are not happy about that. Sigh just goes to show you can't please anybody. Oh guess what he actually won the Master's 8 and he's no longer the protagonist. Happy now?!

8.) Misty Fanboys and Fangirls:
Now I have no problem with anyone liking Misty. Even though she isn't one of my favorite characters...But most of her fans are simply unbelievable! I mean I have read how most of them love putting Misty on a pedestal. Saying how she is the best because of this or that and calling the other Pokegirls trash. They love to over glorify Misty where they think she is a goddess. Yet Misty never did anything impactful in the anime not once. I don't know if it's for nostalgia reasons but Misty is extremely overrated. I don't hate Misty but I can't stand most of her fans. Look I grew up with Misty however I never found her interesting in the first place since I always thought she was annoying! And that's okay because it's just my opinion. Again if you like Misty good for you but please don't bash anyone who doesn't like her.

9.) Fans who complain about the anime not being like the games:
I'm not going to go there...

10.) Fans whining about the Pokémon designs:
Look I understand where everyone is coming. I'm not a fan of all the designs of the Pokémon because most of them look boring, unoriginal or are just plain ugly! However I'm not going to bitch and whine about the Pokémon's looks. Besides most of the new designs look cool while others could use more work. I'm sure if the next Pokémon game comes will get more cooler designs. Hopefully...
