|| SHIT STORM ||

════ ⋆★⋆ ════

Was there still alcohol in her system? Was this a Halloween prank? These were the thoughts that were currently crossing her mind as she tried to register the shit storm of information Dustin had just dropped on her. There was no way it could be true, yet here she was looking at this alien creature which was now in Dustin's turtle aquarium. It has to be true, right? Dustin wouldn't get anything out of spilling the beans, in fact in his own words "I'm putting myself in danger by telling you this".

It now all made sense to her why Will was so distant at the arcade. The poor boy probably has PTSD, I mean who wouldn't after being stuck in what Dustin could only describe as literal hell. But the question remained, what is this thing? And why is it in Hawkins?

"Do you think it's happening again?" She questioned her hands moving Yertle off of the floor and onto Dustin's bed so that he doesn't get hurt. "I don't know... I've never seen something like this before" Dustin sighed as the alien creature scrambled under a rock. "I think it's hungry" He added before emptying the contents of his candy haul onto the bed. "Hey, I'm hungry too" Goldie pouted as Dustin motioned for her to help herself, he had bigger fish to fry than try and fight her for his own candy. The two picked up a candy bar before heading back to the aquarium where Dustin broke his Nougat bar into smaller pieces for the creature to digest. It was hesitant to step back out into the light at first, but that was before Goldie realised it was too hot for him and switched off the heating lamp. "He likes it cold". She smiled at Dustin who appreciated she wasn't flipping out about the whole situation. Goldie was an animal lover after all so even though this little thing could be related to a much bigger problem, she still needed to take care of it for now. "Come on Lil buddy eat up" Dustin smiled showing his gums. With no legs or arms, it sort of wiggled out like it was doing the worm dance. "I like Nougat too" Dustin conversed with the creature as he took a bite from the remains of his bar. "I don't blame him, it's good," Goldie remarked having consumed her bar already and was currently looking at the wrapper, peeking over Dustin smiled noticing that the nougat he had got when trick or treating was from the Three Muskateer brand. "D'Artagnan... I'm gonna call you D'Artagnan".

The two stayed up a little longer watching over D'Artagnan or Dart for short, whilst Goldie still tried to wrap her head around last year's events but no matter how many questions she asked the point still remained, that some things are just unexplainable. Eventually, the girl retired to her room to try and catch some zs, but Goldie wouldn't get much sleep that night, in fact, she calculated that it was roughly one hour's worth of pitiful sleep. No matter how hard she tried to push away the thoughts they didn't like to be evicted. So now she sat in the kitchen at 6 am eating her second bowl of cereal to fuel her sleep-deprived body. What she didn't expect to see was her younger cousin up and about this early too, as he rushed to put on a jacket.

"Where are you going?" Goldie whispered, afraid to wake her aunt. "I'm going to the library" he replied with urgency, his hands fiddling and fumbling with his shoelaces. "It's 6 in the morning? Go back to bed doofus".
