Unexpected [ To Be Continued ]

Chapter 4

I returned to class and saw my students writing the lesson displayed on the TV. I sat at the teacher's table and opened my phone. Nag scroll lang ako sa Facebook at nakita ko ang post ng isang babae na nagngangalang Adelaide.

I would like to thank this company for their nice and cooperative staff. The people managed to make this event flow without any issues. I would also like to thank the CEO of Cohen Industries, Mr. Grayson Cohen, for being a great leader to your employees. Keep on running this business. I hope I can visit you all again soon!

Adelaide? Parang familiar ako sa name.

I suddenly remembered that she's one of the people who commented on Mr. Grayson's Instagram photo. I looked at the students in front of me at nakita ko kung gaano sila katutok sa pagsusulat. These students are really nice and cooperative.

"Caly!!" Rinig kong sigaw ng isang teacher. "How come kilala ka ni Mr. Grayson? Pakilala mo naman ako!" Sigaw niya uli. Agad naman akong napatingin sa mga estudyante ko. "Class, I'll be right back" At sinama ko si Syna paglabas ko.

"Miss Syna, you don't need to scream like that. You startled me and my students. Lower your voice down sometimes." I said. "Ay sorry. Hindi lang talaga kinaya ng excitement slash inggit na nararamdaman ko. So paano?" She asked.

"Kilala ako ni Mr. Grayson dahil ka-close ko si Allie. She talks about me a lot kaya baka doon niya ako naalala. That's all." Pagpapaliwanag ko. She looks so shocked after what i said.

"Ganun? Yun lang, salamat!" Sabi niya at bumalik na sa klase niya. I went back to the room at sat on my chair again.

"I'm sorry for the disturbance. Tapos na ba kayo? Raise your ballpens if you're done."

After lecturing I gave them an assignment and then left the room. As I was walking in the hallway, a lot of teachers are asking me how Mr. Grayson knew about me. I kept on telling them what I told Miss Syna earlier and they believed in me.

I walked passed by the Principals' Office and saw that Mr. Grayson is doing something on his laptop. Mukhang para sa business ang ginagawa niya kaya ganun. I took a blink and saw that he was looking at me. I almost jumped out of my place and wanted to rush out and pretend as if nothing happened but then I saw him signaling me to go into the office.

I looked around nervously to see if anyone was there, and I'm the only one in this hallway. I took a deep breath before opening the door. A nice lemony smell of the room welcomed me. I walked slowly towards his table and bowed my head.

"What were you doing outside, Miss Valdez?" he looked at me then crossed his arms.

"I-I just passed by, Mr. Cohen. My second subject is up so I'll be going upstairs." I said.

"Didn't you pass by the first stairs na andoon sa dulo?" He asked and lifted his left brow.

"No, Mr. Cohen. I used the middle stairs since I came out of the building that you can see in front of the office." Sabi ko at tumango ako.

"Hm, okay. Take a seat." Utos niya at umupo naman ako sa right chair.

"I want to ask about Allie's performance in your class. Nakausap ko na yung ibang teachers and they all said that she's doing well. Is it the same in your class?" He asked.

"Yes, po. Allie is doing well in my class. She's participating in a lot of group activities, is always the leader of the group, and handles her members very well." I formally answered.
