I rested my head on my pillow, my eyes facing the ceiling as my thoughts wandered around my head. I felt tingly for a moment as I tried to remember last night. Did it really happen? Did I just meet a total stranger last night? Did I really let him accompany me all the way home?
I started to feel scared. He could have been anyone, a kidnapper, a killer, a drug addict, a rapist. Was I really that considerate to him?
But then, I felt like trusting him. I didn't feel anything odd around him, he seemed nice. I felt like he was someone good. And his words last night were like music to my ears.
Crystal. Nice to meet you.
He was different. He wasn't like the others. Usually when I was with strangers, once they knew who I was, they treated me like I was of a high rank, like a princess. They kept serving me. They kept chasing around me. Sometimes they'd even stay away from me. But when Dylan knew who I was, he treated me like a normal person. He was cool with me being a top actress. He wasn't scared or anything. And I liked it.
God... liked it?
I got up from my bed, changing my pajamas as I decided to go downstairs.
I'm feeling something I don't even know.
~~~~~
Taylor was reading a recipe on cakes as I got downstairs. Her hands were covered with flour, and her apron was messed up with blue and pink icing. Her blonde hair was a messed-up bun with some flour on it as well. I sat down the couch as I played with my phone.
"Oh, hi Jen." She greeted, almost as if she didn't see me at that moment. I stared at her as she called me by my last name. It was unlikely, but I kind of got used to it. Some of my friends usually call me that.
"Hey. What are you making?" I asked the obvious as I glanced by the kitchen. She paused for a moment, looking at me as her face froze.
"You're asking me the obvious, smarts." She said as she put a hand on her hip while beating the mixture. I looked at her as she continued to make a cake, and turned around to lie down when she spoke again.
"Crystal, are you busy?" She asked gently. I turned back to her.
"No. Why? Is there anything we're about to do?"
"There is, but it's just you... if you're fine with it." She said. Hmm?
"O... kay," I slowly nodded. "What do you want?"
Her face lit up as I agreed, and pulled something out of her pocket. It was a piece of paper with some writing on it. Taylor clearly wasted my Sharpies now.
"Can you go to the store and find these for me?" She smiled as she asked.
"What if I say no?"
"It's a yes, then."
"And if I say yes?"
"You're gonna go anyway."
"What about maybe?"
"Crystal..."
"What if I say-"
"CAN YOU JUST HURRY?"
At that moment I snatched the list from her and changed into my sweater, jeans, and sneakers as I swiftly got out of the house.
~~~~~
I shoved my hands inside my red sweater as I tried to hide myself from any paparazzi that could be anywhere. I walked inside in a hurry, not looking at anyone that could see me. It'll be fine, I assured myself, breathing slowly as I entered.
"This should be quick." I told myself as I passed by the peppers. I grabbed some and quickly put it in a basket, feeling pressured. I don't want any paparazzi right now. This situation could be the death of me.
Several minutes had passed by, and I was close to finishing my groceries. I felt tired already, and I wanted to go home when-
"Crystal?"
I froze and turned around. Shit! Shit! This could be a trap.
I made a run for it before I could see the familiar voice. I heard footsteps behind me as I hid behind the fruit section. I knew that voice. That can't be the paparazzi, I'm sure of it.
But it could still be a trap.
I decided to face this and not be a chicken. So I breathed one last time and said...
"What do you want?"
My eyes widened at the face of who I didn't expect. I dropped the basket, shocked.
I can't believe it's-
