Chapter 3

Third Person View

"Bucky, something isn't right?" Shuri said as the temperature began to alarm the cryo-chamber, Skylar was lying upright peacefully in it. The room had been silent prior the alarm. A voice of someone screaming. Skylar was screaming in her sleep.

"No!" Skylar screamed in her coma state. "No! Don't take my baby! No! No please! Please! We didn't mean to!"

Shuri looking at Skylar as he coma state figure had tears streaming down her face. Her figure started to become agitated in the controlled environment. Shuri looked at Bucky for answers. He was lost too. Shuri looks at Bucky, "was she ever pregnant?"

"No, not that I recall or remember," Bucky says softly. "She never told me she was. If she was ever pregnant that is. We never tried. We only recently discussed wanting to see if we could, but our age. We don't even know if we can. God she wants kids so bad."

Shuri tapped on the screen and tapped into the memory she was having. She was at a HYDRA base, Bucky recognized it.

Skylar lay strapped on the table Bucky was strapped into the memory chair a few spots away in Skylar's view. She had an IV in her arm. She had been shot, he suddenly remembered this mission.

"I remember it was 2012, she was to get an item inside a building while I sat sniper on the building across the street as I looked out. It was going all too smoothly. She was shot by a robotic arm in the building's security as she was leaving. I was able to shoot the arm and disengage it, but Skylar was still injured in the process," Bucky remembers it all too well now. He looks at the screen as they say a few things in Russian , "Zima Zikta, beremenna?" (Winter Sunset, pregnant?") She looked at the doctor and she looked wide eyed like they found out a secret she had. The doctor said, "Prosti, Zima. My ne mozhem yego spasti." (I'm sorry, Winter. We are unable to save it.)

"No," she says crying. "No, no. I'm sorry. Please. Save my baby."

"Ty spal s Zima Soldat?" the handler asks, stepping forward. (Did you sleep with The Winter Soldier?)

She gulps and looks over at Bucky. She gets slapped hard to the point she's knocked out. Bucky looks down feeling horrible.

Shuri looks at Bucky, "what would you like me to do?"

"Keep working on removing the triggers from her," Bucky says. "And do me another favor, can you find out if she can still get pregnant? She'll want to know."

Shuri nods and walks away to grab a few things. She hands Bucky a sterile cup, "go um, do your thing. I will need a sample from you as well. I will remove some eggs from her and see if we can fertilize them in a controlled environment and if you ever decide and she can't get pregnant naturally, we will have some for you two to conceive from. Now go. I will need you to return with your sperm as soon as you finish. Keep the cup warm until you get back." Bucky takes the cup and walks away.

My eyelids feel heavy as I wake slowly and look around. I feel a weight wrapped around me and look to my side and see Bucky sleeping holding my arm. I reach over and stroke his cheek, " James... "

He looks at me, "you're awake."

I nod and lay my head next to his, "how long was I out?" I curl into his chest. He kisses my forehead, "a month." I sigh, "why so long?" He strokes my arm, "well your powers gave the chamber a run." I nod and he brushes my hair from my face, "plus, they ran some other tests for us." I look at him puzzled, "oh. Did you stay the whole time?"

"I went to help Sam for a bit, but was here most of it," he said, squeezing my hand.

Shuri walks in, "good evening Skylar, the monitors told me you were awake. So I thought I'd come say hello."

"Hi," I say softly. She turns the monitor on in front of me, "did Bucky tell you we did some test on you while you were sleeping?"

I nod, "but he didn't say what?"

"Bucky tells us you two want to have children," Shuri says and she looks at me.

I look at Bucky, "I told you, I don't want to be heart broken if we can't..."

He looks at me, "I love you, just listen."

"After conclusion we think you can still get pregnant traditionally, which is amazing for your age, but after studying further, your body is more or less in its late thirties, not one hundred," she said looking at me. "So, if you'd like to try, you and Bucky can. We tested your FSH which is your fertility levels, you are still fertile Skylar. Bucky, he provided sperm to us and he has some very active swimmers still. We also while you were sleeping with Bucky's permission. We harvested a few eggs." She clicks a slide to be shown, "these are your future children shall you ever not be able to conceive naturally, Skylar. They are in Cryo much like you guys and can be there for many years."

"You did this all for me?" I ask with tears in my eyes. Bucky nods, "for our future. Yeah."

I lean my forehead against his, "you amaze me more every day. I love you so much."

"One more thing," Shuri says softly and looks at Bucky. "As the White Wolf Bucky you know when it means if you do actually are to.." she pauses and says softly, "mate with Skylar she'll be a white wolf too. Your embryos. You'll need to turn her first before you begin. Her heat cycle will need to begin everything. We'll help you two with whatever you two need. I'm sure you are aware of this already if you have turned her in already."

I look at Bucky not sure what all this means. I knew he was called the White Wolf but what did turning me have to do with this? What did I get drug into now with this man?
