Someone knocked on my door and said, "Captain, we have two new recruits."

I said, "Bring them in and sit them down."

I heard footsteps, and chairs moving. *AHEM* I spun my chair around and faced two guys.

"Yuki!" exclaimed both of them, their faces beaming.

"I thought you were dead!" exclaimed one of them.

"Silence," I demanded emphatically.

They both sat up straight.

"How good to hear you two decided to join the military," I said to Kazeya and Erin.

One of my comrades handed me two files containing the names of the two rookies. I put them in a filing cabinet and proceeded to greet them as new members of the military. We took a quiet walk down the hall to their room. Our footsteps on the chilly brick floor were the only thing making noise. In their rooms, everyone was fast sleeping. Because of the loud creaks, I opened a door gently.

"This is your room; your clothes and equipment are already inside." Get up at 6 a.m. and report to the conference room; we'll be planning our next expedition."

I ushered them into the room and closed the door softly. I went into my exercise room and strolled in. I didn't want to go to bed yet, so I decided to get in better shape. Punching this punching bag seemed to be easier than previously; I'm not sure how long I was there, but it felt like all night.
