Of course, when they get to New York, things aren't easy. Lauren has only been back from Ohio for three days and Camila gets served. Lauren looks over the papers with her and finds that Shawn is suing her for the money she got selling the house. Not for custody of his daughter. The money from selling the fucking house. It's taking a lot out of Lauren not to track him down and kick his ass.

Camila sighs heavily, "I already used most of it to pay for Emily's school."

Lauren looks questioningly at her, "Does she go to school at Harvard?"

"Since I had the money I paid her tuition for the next three years," Camila states, "It's a hard school to get into and I only got her in because my director's son goes there and he recommended us. It's right next to the studio. All her friends are there. I don't want to have to move her."

Lauren checks the time and rubs her eyes, "I'll call the attorney tomorrow."

When Lauren does, she has to pay him five hundred bucks for him just to talk to her and look over the papers. When he's done, he tells Lauren that she needs to produce the note that Shawn left Camila and if not they're probably going to have to court, which will cost a whole lot more.

Camila says that she may still have the note but she may not. Lauren has some money saved up, but not enough to fight an entire legal battle. The answer presents itself a few days later.

Two thousand dollars for sex. That seemed like an excessive amount of money to pay for sex. Lauren heard that girls downtown would do it for twenty bucks and a rock. This guy must really, really want her and be wealthy.

Lauren sits on the bed and drops her head in her hands. That would certainly help in the legal battle Camila's going to have with Shawn.

Camila asks from the door, "What's wrong?"

Lauren shakes her head, "Nothing."

"Something is wrong," Camila accuses and moved to the bed to sit down next to Lauren.

Lauren shakes her head in a weak attempt to placate her. Lauren knows she'll see right through. It may have been years but she still knows Lauren like they never parted.

"Lauren."

Lauren sighed, avoiding her eyes, "I could get some money to help with the lawyer."

Camila pauses like she knows she's not going to like the answer, "How?"

"There's a guy who wants me to..." Lauren trail off gesturing vaguely to the bed.

Camila's eyes nearly bug out, "No." She stands up and looks down at Lauren. She looks completely appalled.

Lauren blinked because she was not sure she saw that look on Camila before, "What?"

"No," Camila states with finality, "You're not going to have sex for money."

Lauren sighed, "It's two thousand dollars."

"It doesn't matter. No."

Irrational anger that she's so good at producing comes out, "You have no say in who I sleep with. If I want to do it and buy a fucking kilo of coke and bury my fucking face in it I will." Lauren stands up and crosses her arms. She has never, ever hit her, but she's clenching her fists in anger.

Camila's eyes start watering and Lauren fight to keep her fighting stance. Camila puts her hands on Lauren's crossed arms, "No you won't Lauren. You're better than that."

Camila's words are low and calm and they strike Lauren so hard that she's stunned. Lauren sits back down and shake her head, "I'm not."

"Yes you are-"
