On the way home, Lauren and Emily have an extensive conversation about musical instruments and how they make their various noises. By the time they get home, Lauren's pretty sure she's going to end up buying her a large collection of instruments. Lauren wishes that she hadn't quit taking piano lessons when she was little, maybe she could teach her a thing or two. Add another bullet to her list of things she regrets.
When they open the front door, Emily runs inside to go to the bathroom and Lauren take her time locking the door. As Lauren steps farther into the apartment, she sees Camila in the kitchen chuckling to herself. At Emily no doubt.
Camila sees Lauren and a special smile takes place on her face. It's a special finally smile. Camila doesn't say anything. She doesn't really have to.
Lauren drops her keys and purse on the table, trying to think of something to say. Something completely unrelated to the date, but something so it won't be awkward. Lauren settles for, "I hope she passes out soon. She's exhausting."
Camila smiles as she dries the dishes, "You can go take a nap. I'll watch her."
Before Lauren can answer, Emily, comes bounding out of the bedroom and poses dramatically, "I wanna dance!"
Lauren can't stop a laugh and neither can Camila. When the older brunette goes to get the music set up, Emily pulls Lauren to the living room and demands that she start dancing. Lauren and Emily gyrate around the living room and soon Camila joins them.
When a slow song comes on, Emily runs to her room and grabs a doll to dance with. That leaves Lauren and Camila in the living room by themselves. Camila gives Lauren a gentle smile and offers Lauren her hand. Emily's watching so Lauren can't not take it. When Lauren does, Camila pulls Lauren to her and holds one of Lauren's hands up in the air, and rests her other hand on Lauren's waist. Lauren slips her free hand around to rest gently on the back of Camila's neck.
"Are you free Tuesday night?" Camila asks quietly.
"Every Tuesday night," Lauren tells her. Lauren took off Tuesday nights so that she could watch Emily. Camila knows that. She's just being formal. Lauren finds it ridiculously cute.
Camila steps forward so that they're closer to each other and grazes her cheek against Lauren's, "I'll pick you up as soon as I get off of work."
"Okay," Lauren breathes out. Lauren still doesn't know how she's going to handle this dating thing. Lauren doesn't know if she's going to be aloof or if she's going to take it seriously. If Lauren's going to dress up or go casual. At least Lauren have a few days to figure it out.
"Are you nervous?" Camila asks, pulling Lauren out of her thoughts.
Lauren paused before answering honestly. She deserves at least that. "Yeah."
"Don't be," Camila steps back so she can look at Lauren properly, "It'll be fun. I promise."
"You already know what we're doing?" Lauren ask her.
A slow smile grows on her face that tells Lauren the answer to her question before Camila nods. "Of course."
"Did you get Mani to trick me?" Lauren quirked an eyebrow.
"No. I got lucky," Camila gently pushes Lauren away so that she can spin Lauren before pulling her back. Emily laughs at that and tries to mimic the action with her doll. A faster song comes on and Camila drops her hand that's on Lauren's waist but continues to hold Lauren's other hand.
The dancing has become increasingly tiring for Lauren, so she excuses herself to take a nap after a while. Lauren pass out almost immediately and woke up a few hours later to some soft noises around the room.
