"May!" Peter called for his aunt when he entered the small house

"May!" Peter called for his aunt when he entered the small house. "You're in the living room, right?"

May was just about to confirm Peter's assumptions but was shocked speechless as her nephew stumbled into the living space.

A large, white, injured and bleeding wolf in his arms.

"Peter, honey, what-" She set her mug down and helped him lay the poor animal on their couch. "What happened?"

"May, do you remember what I told you about Harry? And that scientist from Oscorp that turned into the giant lizard dude?"

Shockingly, May was following. She nodded.

"I thought I'd gotten rid of the mutants after Harry. But I seem to have missed one. And she's hurt pretty bad, I need your help."

"Wait, so- so just to be sure," May looked down at the weakened animal. "This is a human?"

"Yes, yeah, exactly," Peter said and looked down at the webbing he'd wrapped around the wolf's bleeding leg.

The blood was starting to sleep through and he knew that if the poor animal didn't get the help it needed, it would die.

She would die.

"Well, didn't... wasn't the scientist able to shift at will? What- why can't she shift back?"

"I don't know. But I did my best but she really needs more professional attention. Thankfully I've got an in-house nurse."

May switched half her brain into work mode, no matter how tired she was already, and began helping the wolf.

Peter removed the webbing very carefully but was instructed to reapply a tight string of it around the animal's leg as a tourniquet.

So the bleeding would slow long enough for May to clean the wound and stitch it. Which she was able to do rather flawlessly.

"Okay," She sighed and stepped back, proudly glancing at her stitch work from a distance. "I think that'll work. Let's get this wrapped up and get them comfortable. They'll stay here for the night."

Peter eagerly helped his aunt make the living room and couch comfortable as a makeshift bedroom for the half human half wolf creature.

Then, he was urgently rushed to bed along with aunt May herself.

Little did she know, though, that after a few hours and after Peter was sure May was asleep, he'd sneak back downstairs to check on the wolf.

Who'd shifted back to her human form as she rested. She wasn't asleep though. Just lying on the couch wrapped in blankets and ripped, blood stained clothes.

She heard him before he spoke.

"Hey, spider boy," The girl muttered drowsily.

"Hey. Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you... if I did."
