Superhero Business
"HOWDY DANDY! WHO IS THIS AND HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE MURDERED?"
"Wade, it's me- Peter?"
Amused, Wanda tilted her head as she watched Peter's cheeks flare pink and his eyes avoid hers while Wade's voice rang out from the phone as realisation hit him. "Peter- baby boy is that you?!" Wanda brought her coffee cup to her lips to hide behind as she stifled her laughter. Over the past few weeks since their late-night talk, both Wanda and Peter had thought long and hard about how to get back into the superhero world without attracting the Avenger's attention. Then Peter had remembered his extensive contact list of almost every vigilante in New York; Wanda would guess that he was regretting choosing Wade as his first choice, much to her enjoyment.
"Where the hell have you been pumpkin? DD has been climbing the walls since you disappeared- he is such an asshole; you have to come back and make him be nice to me again!"
Peter winced and his hand drifted to rub the back of his neck. "I sort of left the Avengers?"
A theatrical gasp came over the phone before Peter could elaborate; the teen could picture Wade being dramatic and holding a hand to his chest when he sniffed dramatically down the receiver before there was the sound of rustling- Wade wiped a pretend tear away over the mask. "I'm so proud of you- baby spidey is all grown up- does this mean I can fight the Avengers now? It would be a pleasure to have my ass beat by the good captain and I mean, I have to protect your honour-"
"What- my honour? DP stop. I just called to ask if you could get us back into the business."
Wade paused, ceasing all movement on the other end of the line and cutting his reverie of being chased down by Captain America short. "You want to be like a mercenary? Look honey bunch-"
"No!" Peter exclaimed before realising he was in a public space. He muttered a quiet apology and swiftly looked down at the table as Wanda casually bit into a muffin- she watched him like he was her favourite film. "No, Wade. Like sending over some of the smaller things, okay? As a favour?"
"Oh, thank God. Matt would have had my ass-" Wade mumbled, "On one condition gorgeous!"
Peter groaned and released a long-suffering sigh. "Like what?"
"You have to come and visit our favourite devil; I'm surprised he hasn't hunted you down by sniffing you out like a blood hound." Peter made a face at the idea and Wanda snorted. "Trust me Petey pie, your check in every month isn't enough to stop him from going feral and you're lucky the lovely Miss Jones hasn't stormed that ugly tower and demanded answers as to why you left in the first place- pretty sure Lukey had to sit on her the last time she got worked up until she'd calmed down again."
Guilt immediately bombarded Wanda's sense. She frowned and sent Peter back a wave of comfort, her amusement at the whole conversation waning at his falling mood.
"Fine. I'll come down in the next couple days. Just keep everyone away from the tower until then."
"Sure, thing pretty boy! But if you're not here in the next few days I'll sick DD on you. Cheerio!"

Clint
As he trudged down the corridor, Tony looked deranged. He made a beeline from the lab to the communal kitchen and was willing to blast anyone in the way of him and the coffee machine.
Pepper Potts was a cruel woman who had stolen all of his coffee pots when Tony hadn't been looking, right from beneath his nose- even his bots had remained silent, the traitors. She had claimed it was for his own good- "For your health Tony, when was the last time you drank water? Or ate a vegetable?"- Tony had claimed that it was because she was the devil in high heels who had been sent to make his life a misery with her minions help; Dum-E and Butter Fingers. Pepper had merely arched a perfect eyebrow at him and his insanity before she walked out, immune to his dramatic tendencies. Her heels had clicked as she went, her arms full of the love of his life. Carla the coffee machine.
