Chapter 11: Guilty

Author Notice: Ayy hello. I've found some time to update, took a break from studying lol. Anyway I'm working on the cover of the new book then I might post it either tomorrow or day after. I'm not sure. I'll also be working on chapter 12 of this book. I just realised how long this book is- So um yeah, I hope you are doing well! Now without further ado, let's get started!

'I-I,' Valt stutters, letting Anne go. 'Valt? Why...?' Shu asks.

'Look, it's not what it looks like-' He tries to reason with the albino. Surprisingly, Anne doesn't say anything. 'Shu, it's okay. He was just mad,' She states, moving towards him. 'Why the knife?' He addresses Valt. He hides the knife behind his back and looks down. 'I..um,' He tries to say something, but can't.

Anne walks out of the room, leaving Shu and Valt. The albino is about to say another thing, but then he notices a possible explanation why all this happened. He decides to keep quiet and walks out of the room.

'Well that went...great,' Valt whispers to himself.

He exits the classroom and the school, walking back to his house. He enters and sees his siblings along with his mom asleep on the couch, the TV was still on. He smiles and walks over to them to turn off the TV, then he goes upstairs, frowning again.

Valt POV

Why Valt, why? Now Shu knows what a monster you are. He'll never like you back.

Third PER

He buries his head in the pillow for a few minutes until he stops, to breathe. He lies on his back and stares blankly at the ceiling. Without even knowing it, he drifts off to sleep.

Time Skip: 1 hour

Valt slowly opens his eyes, blinking repeatedly to wake himself up. He checks the phone inside the drawer of his nightstand.

'You have one new notification' It read on the screen. Valt sighs and sits up straight, surprised to see it.

He opens it. It wasn't a text message or anything important.

'Albino Rabbit has set your nickname to bluee'

It was just 5 minutes ago. He gets curious and leaves it open.. Just then, he sees that Shu is typing. In shock, he almost drops his phone, luckily, he catches it.

'Hi Valt. I know you're there.'

'You okay?'

'Hello?'

It reads, Valt smiles and texts back.

'Yeah, you know me.'

*Play script form*

Shu: Okay cool. You wanna talk?

Valt: Sure

Shu: So, about today-

Shu: Wait never mind

Valt: ???

Valt: Also why is my nickname bluee

Shu: Dunno. I just wanted to try something new

Valt: Um

Valt: Give me a sec

'Bluee has set the nickname for Alibno Rabbit Shu <3'

Valt: There

Shu: Nice

Valt: Eh

Shu: Uh, I have a question

Valt: Okay go ahead

Shu: Are you a yandere?

Valt's hands froze. He didn't know what to say to him.

Valt: ...

Shu: ?

Valt: Umm

Shu: It's okay if you are, tho it's kinda creepy

Shu: Don't get me wrong

Valt: Yeah..

Valt: I am

Shu: Alr, I have to go. Cya

Valt: Okay bye

Shu: Bye

Valt closes his phone and his eyes. He could feel himself tearing up.

'It's kinda creepy'

Were the words that he could remember. He knows that Shu didn't mean it in an offensive way, but it still hurt.

Valt was sad, as he could never be angry with Shu. He also felt guilty. And he wasn't sure why.

Was it caused he realised what he was doing was wrong? Or maybe Shu just made him feel that way?

He lies down on his bed, curled up on his side. He stays in this position for a few minutes, when he hears a knock on his door.

'Yes?' He asks.

'It's for you sweetie. Someone's here to see you,' A voice responds, it sounded like mom's.

He gets up and opens the door.

'Shu?! What are you doing here?' Valt exclaims, as he opens his door wider to let Shu in.

He walks inside, 'I just wanted to come by, sorry for keeping you on short notice.'

Valt sighs and smiles, 'No worries.'

Shu sits down on Valt's bed, looking down. His face looks more serious, it was like he wanted to say something, but couldn't.

'Valt. Please be honest.' He blurts out, looking at the bluenette standing in front of him, with a concerned look.

'Oh, uh. Of course. What is it?' Valt answers.

'Do you know what happened to May?'

At this, Valt's eyes widen. His whole body froze, as if he was paralyzed.

'No.' He mumbles. Shu hums for a second and stands up. 'Alright, then,' He says.

Valt's guilt was taking over. He was lying to the person he loved.

'Wait, um,' He stutters. 'I.......I,' He murmurs, scratching his neck.

Shu smiles for another second, 'No worries, I know.'

'You don't.'

'I do.'

'I killed her.'

'I know.'

'....You don't. Wait, you do?'

'I knew from the moment I saw you...um. Try to kill Anne.'

Valt's eyes water.

Shu notices and asks, 'What's wrong, Valt?'

'You probably hate me now.'

He closes his eyes tightly, wiping his tears with his arm.

The albino chuckles and brings him in for a hug.

'I could never hate you.' He whispers in Valt's ears. It was either that he was choosing to ignore him or that he didn't hear him, because the bluenette was still crying. Though, it was quiet, he probably didn't want Shu to hear.
