📍 Camelot

September, 505 AD

After my training sessions with the horses on a windy September morning, I took a bath – as usual – and then skipped over to Gaius's apartment, wishing for some entertainment given that my tablet was currently charging (and not doing a very good job of it because the cloudy sky wasn't making it easy for the solar charger to do its part). I entered the small apartment to find the physician working on some potions.

"Hey," I greeted the man. "Whatcha up to?"

"Restocking my first aid kit," he responded, not removing his eyes from whatever plant thingy he was smashing up.

I nodded in understanding and glanced around, finding that Merlin wasn't home. "Need any help?" I offered. It's not like I have anything better to do.

"Thank you, dear girl," Gaius replied with a little grin. "Would you pass me some turmeric?"

"Yep!" I chirped and stepped towards a shelf as I searched the jars for anything resemblant of turmeric.

"It is in that cupboard over there," the physician noted while pointing to another corner of the room.

"Right," I sighed and moved to get it. I grabbed one small root, figuring that it would be enough, considering how charged each particle is, and I promptly handed it to Gaius.

"Could you crush it now?" he asked.

"Sure," I answered, a small smirk forming on my lips. Crushing stuff is always fun. I grabbed a mortar that sat atop the work table and placed the turmeric inside it. I didn't hesitate before starting to pound on it with the pestle. "What's this for, anyways?" I wondered.

"For my anti-inflammatory remedy," Gaius responded.

I nodded in understanding and continued to crush the root while gazing around the table for a moment, noticing the other powdered stuff he'd already made. It's crazy to think how people get by with nothing but plants for medicine, and they manage quite well. Of course, modern medicine works wonders, but I bet that people would be a lot healthier if big pharma was reserved for life-or-death situations...

I jolted when the door to the apartment opened and a smile instantly formed on my lips when I saw the ever-so-handsome Prince of Camelot coming in.

"'Sup, Artie. Fancy some happy herbs?" I joked while gesturing towards a random powder, the identity of which I have no idea. "I bet Gaius keeps some Belladonna somewhere."

"Astraea," Gaius scolded with a shake of his head.

I shot him a wink and then moved closer to Arthur, who sustained an amused look as his pretty eyes stared at me. "What brings ya' here? Tummy ache?" I questioned. "Did Merls feed ya' too much?"
