We got some news from the little guys up in the Skarloey railway and good god a lot has happened to them.
They managed to clear a path to Peter Sam who was almost completely buried in a landslide but thankfully it didn't take long to pull him out. However there was no way anyone was driving him, he was far too damaged plus his crew was nowhere to be found. Peter Sam said that they left him to die once the mines were attacked so they were presumed to be dead. Apart from that Peter Sam hadn't said anything else a lot must've been going through his smokebox, so no one could blame him for being so quiet.
After a while Peter Sam finally spoke, he was with Bertram when everything went haywire, but hadn't seen him since he left claiming he would be a hero as he was the Old Warrior. Duke didn't really mind that, he was never a big fan of Bertram. He reminded him too much of Smudger. He was too big for his own buffers.
Sir Handel however was the exact opposite he was worried, he had just witnessed the people who he thought were here to help them kill Duncan in cold blood. He couldn't think of losing anyone else. So they made a plan, Duke and Sir Handel would search the railway for survivors while Peter Sam and the survivors who didn't volunteer to go would stay at the quarry. The three Mid Sodor engines said their goodbyes and the group split up.
As they went down the line they didn't find much. They did find Bertram's remains; he was thrown to the side of the line and was gutted. Darrel wanted to throw up when he saw his face. Sir Handel didn't say much after that. As they neared the station at Rheneas they heard the sound of muffled arguing and found Mighty Mac. Mighty was arguing with Mac who was facing the other way. Duke and Sir Handel approached the dule head engine and saw Mighty was on the verge of tears asking what was wrong with Mac. They approached Mac and saw he was zombified and was trying to gain full control. They pushed the half dead engine into the shed hoping to keep Mighty calm.
They were discussing what to do with Mighty Mac. Half the engine was infected while the other wasn't. They suggested they put Mac down and drag Mighty along, but Mighty overheard and yelled he would never let them kill Mac, so that option went out the window. Then something crazy happened. Mighty began to yell and scream telling the voices to get out of his head. Seemed the infection was making its way through the whole engine. Mighty's wheels spun backwards while Mac's spun forward. Soon Mighty lost his grip and was sent flying out of the shed. Sir Handel raced after hoping to get infront to stop them, but he wasn't fast enough and was derailed at the points. Mighty Mac raced down the line. Mighty's pleas for help soon faded out in the distance. Duke was saddened by the loss and Sir Handel was horrified. The survivors quickly began to lift Sir Handel back onto the rails.
Sir Handel wanted to go after Mighty Mac, but Duke said it would be too dangerous with all the noise those two caused; he expected a wave of zombies to arrive soon. The other survivors agreed so they packed their stuff and went back to the quarry where they found Peter Sam with Rusty, who had been inspecting the tracks on the BlueBell line when the zombie attack began.
Peter Sam asked what the hell happened as he and Rusty saw Mighty Mac run through. Duke explained everything and Peter Sam went silent. After a little more catching up they began thinking of a plan for rescuing Skarloey from the military at Crovan's gate. That was when the radio cut and went to static. I thought I heard Rheneas' whistle in the distance before the radio cut out. We all hoped they were okay.
