A soft melody flows in the air. You smile and open your eyes. Realizing it is someone playing piano out in the main room of the cabin. You stretch your arms above your head and let out a long yawn. Climbing out of the bed you notice a folded set of clothes at the foot of the bed. Holding up the black pleather pants and tee-shirt you figure it's Nat's. Clint must have assumed they would fit you. Laughing out loud you shake your head and place them back on the bed. Searching the floor for the black sweats you had on the night before, you pull them on with your tank top. Steping out of the room you can hear a sweet voice singing.
Stars shining bring above you
Night breezes seem to whisper
I love you
Birds singing in the sycamore trees
Dream a little dream of meYou realize it's Natasha singing. Rounding the corner into the main room you notice Clint and Natasha sitting behind a piano. He was playing and she was singing. But why this song? He knows it was your mothers and your song. Leaning against the wall you stand there trying to keep your emotions in check. Her voice was amazing, and he could kill it on the piano. They really were besties. Why did it make you jealous? He professed his love to you last night. Shaking your head you accidentally drop your phone. The loud clunk makes them both stop and turn towards the noise.
*Y/N? You're awake! We didn't wake you did we?* Natasha gets up and starts walking towards you.
*Not rly, but that was beautiful. My mother loved that song.* You barely get out of your mouth. That familiar lump in your throat rises again.
*That's what Clint said. I figured we could sing it together. Me and you! What do you think?* She wraps her arm around you and gently pulls you in the direction of the piano.
Clint has started to play a melody on the keys. You didn't recognize it, but it was calming.
*Oh...no, no.....I dont sing. Im not as good as you.* Hanging your head you hide the Blushing in your cheeks.
*That's not what I hear!* She pulls you into a hug. *Clint said you have an amazing voice.* She winks at you motioning for you to sit down on the bench next to him.
Sitting down on the bench you rub your hands on your pants trying to hide your nerves. You never liked singing in front of others.
*Morning Darlin. How did you sleep?* He stops playing to wrap his right arm around your waist and pull you into him. He kisses your temple then moves his hands back to the keys to continue the amazing melody he was playing.
*Amazingly! Thank you for coming...both of you.* You turn to look up at Nat.
*I'd cross the ends of the earth for you.* He doesn't take his eyes off the piano and starts to hum a tune.
*Any time Y/N! You know I like you!* She bumps your shoulder with her hand.
A smile slowly starts to creep up on your face. You hear Clint start to sing something soft and quietly. Closing your eyes to listen to his voice and try to hear the words. The melody was smooth and his voice like velvet to your ears.
Life's in key, the right arrangement
Her tempo's fine with me and she loves my phrasin'
Let her conduct and cue my choir
We'rе both in harmony
She's my stereo love*This melody sounds familiar.* You turn back to him and kiss him on the cheek.
*Mmhmm* He hums to you continuing the melody. *This is the song I sang to you the first night I stayed with you in the hospital.*
*That's it! It's beautiful, Clint. Who did you write it for?* You shift so that you can lay your head on his shoulder ever so lightly.
*I wasn't sure till I met you.* Turning his head he gives you a quick wink then goes back to humming the melody.
