_________________________________ "Drew's pretty bummed you guys can't make the match next week," Taylor tells us.
"Drew doesn't care if we're there or not, he just wanted an excuse to talk to you," Belly points out.
"She's right Taylor, he's been trying to get with you since you were a freshmen," I say jokingly as I shove another pair of shorts in my suitcase.
"I seriously can't believe your bringing that swimsuit," Sydnee says whiling looking at my black one piece with disgust. "Have you looked in the mirror lately, that thing will not be doing you any justice." Sydnee was my best friend and she was right, whether I wanted to admit it or not. I've changed since last summer, so maybe it's time my wardrobe changes too.
"I don't have anything else, I'll just have to pick one up when we get there." I say shrugging.
" I don't think so, I have one in my car that would be great on you, I'm not letting my best friend destroy her shot at finally impressing Jer-" I interrupt her by slamming my hand over mouth.
" Ok fine let's just go and get it," I say has I grab her arm with one hand and my bags in the other and drag her out of Belly's room. "I seriously hope they did not hear that, the last thing I need is Belly knowing I have a think for Jeremiah."
"What's the big deal if she knows?"
"You know how she is Syd, anything I want, she'll want it to."
After we finish getting the swimsuit from her car we walk back into the house as my moms yelling at Belly to hurry up.
"Hey sweetie, do you have your stuff in the car already?"
"Yes, I just put them in there." I say as she shakes her head approvingly.
" At least one of my girls is ready to go," she says as she plants a kiss on my cheek.
I look over at Sydnee with a weird expression and say, "That was weird, I wonder what's up with her today." She just shrugs her shoulders.
Belly eventually makes her way to the car and loads her stuff into the car as I'm saying goodbye to Sydnee.
"What's your one summer wish this year?" She ask.
"To be noticed by Jere in the way I notice him." I say whiling sighing.
"Than come out of your shell and do things with them, don't just hide out at the house and in the pool by yourself this year, have fun" she says whiling shaking my shoulders and making me laugh.
" Ok ok, I'll do my best," I respond, pulling her into a hug.
"Thank you."
"Alright, everyone's here, so let's go," Mom says as I climb into the back seat of the car with her. As Steven drives off I wave out the window to Sydnee and Taylor as they wave back and climb into their cars.
