One of my favorite memories at Cousins started with a song and ended with a boy. "Stevie, I need a partner," I had said he him.

"Yeah, right." He scoffs.

"Here I'll show you," Jere had said getting up and walking towards me.

"What about the game?" Steven had asked him.

"Give me one second."

"Copy me," he said grabbing my hands in his. "One, two-three. One, two-three. Rock step." I did as he had told me and muttered the steps too myself.

"B, you're not even on the beat." Steven says as him and Conrad laugh.

"How'd you learn to shag?" I ask him.

"My mom." He says as I giggle about the dance. I start to get the hang of it and he grabs my hands spinning me in his arms, that is until I miss a step and bump right into him.

"Oops, sorry." I say blushing and I look down.

"It's fine. Let's try again. Come on" he says holding his hands out for me to grab.

"Okay, my hands are kinda sweaty," I say grabbing his hands.

"It's okay. Mine, too." They in fact were not sweaty, he had told me that so I wouldn't become embarrassed. He spun me around causing me to laugh as we kept dancing until the song was over.

Looking at me now trying to do this dance all on my own was a nightmare. Looking back in that day so long ago made me wish I had spent more time remembering the moves instead of staring at Jeres face the whole time. I looked like a dork right now.

I take my phone out texting Conrad because we needed to talk about what had happened yesterday. He needs to know that I don't see him that way and Belly does, so she should be his priority.

"Hey B." Shayla says coming up to me with Steven.

"I'm so sorry about Belly, she was such a mess yesterday. I really hope she didn't screw things up that bad."

"It's okay, it's not your fault and she apologized earlier this morning. We're good," she says looking at Steven.

"She was a Tasmanian devil yesterday."

"She definitely was, but you should be nice we've all been there and I remember your specifically. If I do remember correctly the first time drank you thought you were dying and hid under the bed for the whole day." I say.

"Oh look at the time, we better get back to dancing Shayla." He says pulling her away before I embarrass him further.

Just as they leave Page comes in with a older woman. "Please welcome our debutante waltz instructor, Ms.Covington. All the way from Ms.Covingtons School of Ballroom Dance in Newton." Every applause led including me.

"Thank you Page. As all of you know l, the waltz is the most highly anticipated part of the ball. So, please join your partners now." Everyone moves for their partners except me, because I was too busy yesterday to ever find a date. "And we will began the fundamentals starting with the box step." She says as I stand there looking lost. "When the music starts, you do not..." she's cut off by Nicole walking up to me.

"Hey where's your escort, did you not find one?" She says.

"Uh six margaritas and babysitting Belly kinda got in the way of that."
