Backstage lovers

Chapter 9!

*fast forward past the mission*
We were on the bus ride home when I get a text from Yelena.
Y: Hey sis! How was the mission?
Me: It was just another mission with Bucky 😂
Y: nice! Are you on your way back? I need to see you about something.
Me: yes, it will be about 3 hours but we can get together as soon as we are back.
Y: great! See you later.

I look over and Wanda is of course, asleep.
She is so cute when she sleeps.
Eventually we pull up to the compound, and I turn to Wanda. She was still asleep so I rubbed her cheek and said "baby we are back at the compound you have to wake up."
*a/n I was contemplating putting a terrible situation here*
She wakes up, stands up, and grabs me around my neck. In a sleepy voice she says " baby will you carry me to our room?"
I whisper yes into her ear and take her upstairs. I lay her down in our bed and head back downstairs to pick up all of our stuff.
As I exit the elevator on the main floor Steve walks up with all of our things. I give him a smile and a thank you and proceed back upstairs.
As I'm putting things away, starting a load of laundry, and cooking some dinner I get a text from Wanda.
W: hey baby can you come to our room?
Me: yes baby hold on
I go to our room and she is sitting up in the bed. I crawl up to her and hold her as she begins to cry.
I ask "baby what's the matter?"
She proceeds to talk about the mission and how she really wished things would've gone differently. It took me a second but then I remembered, she was having flashbacks to the mission where her brother died. This happens every time. All I can do is comfort her and let her cry it out.
Just then the oven beeped and that meant dinner was ready. She looked up at me with pleading eyes and I told her "let's go eat princess" she nodded and walked downstairs.
We both ate and talked about life.
As silence fell upon us, I called my sister.

Me: hey Lena do you want to meet tonight or tomorrow? I know it's late.
Y: I can swing by the compound in a few, Kates coming with.
Me: that's fine come when you're ready.

The phone call ends and Wanda and I snuggle up on the couch until Yelena shows up.

Kate and yelena started dating around the same time Wanda and I did. So it's been a little over a year. They are so cute together and they know it.
So they come in and tell us that they were engaged and they were getting married! I'm so happy for them and I let them know that by celebrating with a bottle of vodka. We drank and goofed off.
After a while they fall asleep on my couch and Wanda and I go upstairs to our room and fall asleep.
About an hour after we fell asleep there was a knock on our bedroom door. "Hey Nat; Steve needs you." Lena said. I went out to the door and there stood Steve, looking distressed. I asked him what was wrong and he says "Tony is in the lounge drunk and it's a little out of hand." And as the woman with the most strength I'm always the one to carry Tony out of the party.
I called Pepper and told her to be ready, and that I was bringing him up. And she knew the drill. I got him up to his room and went back to mine.
I walked in the door and Yelena and Kate were still snuggled up on the couch asleep so I went up to my room. I walked past the bathroom and heard some sniffles coming from inside. I knocked on the door, and I heard a soft come in. I slowly opened the door and there was my baby, crying again. I knew it was because i left and didn't tell her. I looked at her and said "baby girl don't cry. Daddy is right here to hold you." I kissed her lips, wiped her tears,  and we went and snuggled back up in bed. A few minutes later she was right back asleep and I soon drifted off without a care in the world, knowing that my baby was safe in my arms.
