After most likely 15 minutes I finally found the right route to the set. This also meant I was late. 15 minutes late to my set meeting, not to mention i'm meeting the very loved Romeo Bryan, or recently referred to as my new director.
I was beyond shocked when Amelia told me this. But unfortunately, that's the only person I knew I would be meeting and if I'm so honest I wish I knew who else it would be. You never know who you'll be seeing as an actress.
I pull up to the valet and I eagerly hop out of the car pulling down my shades. The set felt so fresh, so new, so amazing. Surprisingly I was excited to be here and that feeling was so long gone that it almost felt unfamiliar.
After a short breath, I began walking toward the main set building. Each step filled me with more excitement and anticipation. I open one of the two doors and am greeted with glossy marble floors and beautiful white walls, as well as A great chandelier that hangs beautifully from the roof of the tall building. It was stunning and so elegant.
Small groups of people were gathered together discussing things that I assume had to do with the movie. I could join in on one of them but believe it or not I'm very shy in social areas so I avoid the chance of discussion and walk to the room where Amelia informed me I was supposed to meet the rest of the cast and crew at.
Approaching the room my heart grows heavy from the thought of something going wrong. Deep breaths Victoria. 1...2...3...4...5. My hand grasps the handle and I swing open the door. Apparently, I was the elephant in the room because almost immediately everyone's eyes snapped to me and the room grew quiet. I walked to the seat that was open next to Amelia, who looked very happy for some reason but then again anything makes Ames happy.
Plopping down in the seat, I adjust myself to a comfortable position and place my phone on the table. One thing about me is I hate when people are on their phones and not present during a conversation. It's rude and disrespectful to the people who are trying to speak and quite frankly I just never want to miss a moment in life.
Looking up I still see a few eyes on me while no other than Romeo fucking Byran is talking abt how grateful he is and how excited he is to "start a new journey in all of our lives". Nice try Romeo but I'm still going to be the same girl who hates acting in romance after this, but I would never say that out loud because I would lose my job in a second and if you ask me... I want to be able to pay my next car payment.
But one set of eyes in particular seemed to pull me in. He had these stunning dark blue eyes and ruffled up dirty blonde hair that could almost be recognized as a light brown. The right side of his face was propped up by his hand which had a little butterfly right in the center. He gives me a light smirk and goes back to looking at Romeo as do I.

"Any questions or comments anyone wants to make before we introduce ourselves properly?" Romeo asks the rest of the table. "Alrighty then, let us start with our lovely cast members!" fuck, why us first. I always dread introductions because I feel like people go look each other up and turn into the FBI.
The rest of the crew introduces themselves and then It's my turn to speak. "Hi, I'm Victoria Smith. I'm pretty sure I'm playing as the main female character" I say quietly giving the table a little smile trying to seem happy abt having to be here.
Everyone welcomes me and now it's time for Butterfly's turn. "I'm Apollo Moore, I will be playing as the main male character" and there it goes. All my confidence in acting in the steamy scenes is gone down the drain because now I know I have to do it with the fucking goddess in this room.
Everyone greets him and I join in but only to the point where he could tell my mouth moved not to the point where I'm heard. God forbid you could actually hear me. Romeo speaks up again "Thank you all again, enjoy your evening! you can come back for the party later this evening if you would like, we will be celebrating my 10th year of being in this industry" I'm already planning my outfit because those parties are always so much fun and there was no way in hell me, Victoria Smith was going to miss a party.
Everyone stands up from their seats but I stay seated and grab my phone. I have 4 messages from Gracie wishing me luck and sending her love and Another from Amelia saying 'Blue eye guy is so cute but he seems...intimidating' tell me about it Ames. I text both back a short and sweet message and when I look up I notice everyone gone except none other than Butterfly who was blatantly staring at me.
"How's the view?" I ask letting the words slip from my mouth carelessly. He looks me right in my eyes and I'm trapped right in his gaze in seconds, "Better than anything else I've seen in my life so far" even though his words leave me flustered I don't let my face show that. "Well, I'm glad you think so highly of it" I stay confident but I give him a small smile.
"Coming to the party this evening?" he asks shamelessly as I stand up from my seat tucking the seat back in place. After a few heartbeats I finally give him an answer, "One thing you need to know about Victoria Smith is she will never, and I mean ever miss a party" I scoff and walk to the door and as soon as my hand touches the cold metal he finally speaks up. "A pleasure to meet you, Ms. Smith". I give him a shocked look and then walk out the door, letting the door fall shut behind me.
My mind finds itself replaying that conversation on repeat as I walk through the silent building. What an odd Butterfly he was.
