The man standing in the living room chuckles. "Of course I'm not," he laughs. "Way to point out the obvious."

"Where's Niki?" Eret says, stepping in front of me protectively.

"Dead, of course," he laughs, unsheathing his sword. "Along with all the people that got us these badges."

Three more men appear in the living room, and Eret's sheet begins blinking. Bad, the demon hybrid, a man named Sam, and a woman named Tina. However, none of these people are the people who show up. They're all Lylesburg palace guards.

Warn the others, I tap to Eret. Tell them to run. I'll hold them off.

Other way around, princess, he taps back. I'm not leaving you here alone.

I give them a curt nod, running to the ladder and climbing it two rungs at a time. I open the hatch, slightly out of breath. "Run," I warn everyone. "Lylesburg palace guards killed people to get their pins, and used their teleportation powers. Get out of here."

"Who's dead?" Lily asks.

"Niki, Sam, Tina, and Bad," I say, glancing at her. "I'm sorry."

Aimsey grabs her dagger from where it's been sitting on the bench next to her, putting it in its sheath on her side. She puts a motherly arm around Lily, guiding her away from the bunker. Everyone else begins leaving, but Dream sits down on a bench around fifty feet away from the bunker.

"I'll stay here; warn anyone who comes back," he says. "They'll trust me. I'll tell them I'm waiting here to turn in anyone who comes back."

I give him a nod. "Thank you. Find someplace safe, everyone."

I disappear back down the ladder, where Eret seems to be having trouble with the guards. One already seems to be passed out on the floor, but the other three are up and fighting. I see one elbow Eret in the stomach, leaving him gasping for breath. Another slashes at Eret with his sword, but Eret blocks it quickly with theirs.

I launch into action, the knife up my sleeve sliding to my hand in one quick movement. I flick my wrist like Phil taught me, hitting the guard with the sword square in the stomach. Blood spills all over the floor, and the man drops his sword and falls to the ground. And then there were two.

I uncross my swords from my back, slashing at the man who's trying to attack Eret from behind. Spinning and slashing at him, it's clear that the guards in Lylesburg are trained much better than the guards in Cartersburg. The guard blocks both of my swords with one of his, pushing back against me. I collide with Eret, our backs pushed up against each other with the guards circling us.

"You good?" He asks.

"I will be when I get us out of this situation," I say, pushing back against the guard that tries to slash at me with his sword.

"Y'know, you look hot when you're fighting," Eret says.

"That's because I'm sweating," I shoot back. "Y'know, maybe you should save the compliments for after we fight these guys?"

"Sorry sweetheart, am I distracting you?" She smirks.

"Very much," I say. I jump forward, knocking the sword out of one of the guards hands. It clatters to the ground, but that's not the only trick he has up his sleeve.

As soon as the sword hits the ground, both guards pull out a gas mask of some sort. The guard who lost his sword presses some sort of button on his armor, and a yellow, gas-like substance is emitted into the room.
