Sky POV
TW: Mentions of scars, weapons, war
Eret and I wake up in the morning in practically the same position we were last night, except this time, we can hear frantic whispering all around us.
"They're so adorable," I hear someone say.
"Shhh, you're going to wake them up," A more familiar voice this time.
I push myself up, rubbing my eyes. "Wilbur?" I ask groggily. "When did you get here?"
Wilbur is about to open his mouth to respond, but Eret jumps in for him, sitting up and wrapping an arm around my waist. "I told you, a few hours before I found you."
A questioning look comes over the faces of everyone in the room, which I realize to be pretty much everyone in the bunker. My eyes travel across the room, noticing new arrivals like Wilbur, Techno, a man with a multicolored hoodie, the man clutching the whiteboard, the girl with a rose pinned to her shirt, a girl who looks around seventeen years old cowering in a corner. I'll have to talk to her later.
Eret speaks up, glancing around the room like I did a few moments ago. "It seems we have a few new arrivals," he says. "Have you guys picked out a place to stay?"
The new people timidly nod, seemingly scared to be here. I speak up this time.
"There's no need to be scared," I tell them. "I promise, you're safe here. Safer than you were out there. Eret and I started this because neither of us had a say in this war, and we wanted to protect the citizens of our kingdoms. We will do everything we can to protect you, I promise."
Shy smiles are scattered across the room, some more confident than others. "I'm going to go get dressed," I whisper to Eret.
I walk to the room I share with Aimsey, Cara, and Lucy, closing the door behind me and thanking god that everyone is still in the living room. I can't let them see the scars. Not yet.
I throw on a black ribbed shirt and some ripped black jeans, crossing my swords behind my back and strapping a knife to each leg like always. I also strap one to my arm, considering I'm wearing long sleeves.
I walk out of the room, and the bunker is bustling with activity. People are in and out of the bathrooms, and Aimsey, Cara, and the girl who has a rose pinned to her shirt are attempting to cook for everyone. I sigh, sliding into the kitchen with them and taking out another pan.
While starting on a whole bunch of scrambled eggs for the fifteen plus people in the bunker, I bump into the girl with the rose. "Oh, I'm sorry," I tell her.
"It's alright," the girl says. "I'm Hannah. Hannah Rose."
"I'd introduce myself, but I feel like there's no need," I laugh.
"Nope," she says. "I'm pretty sure everyone here knows who you are. Nice speech this morning, by the way."
"Thanks," I tell her.
The four of us work in a comfortable silence, with Aimsey making pancakes, Hannah making bacon, and Cara and I working on the eggs. It's not easy, but we manage to get everything done in a reasonable amount of time.
"Breakfast!" Cara calls.
People like Tommy, Toby, and Lucy race to the kitchen, picking up a plate and filling it with food immediately. Eret, Wilbur and Techno follow closely behind, chuckling to themselves. I survey the room, smiling slightly at how well everyone is getting along.
I notice the same shy girl from earlier sitting with her plate on her lap, on the floor in a corner. I walk over to her, sitting against the wall next to her.
